Squats -

After having a break from training for the last couple of weeks to rest my glass back I thought i'd give squatting a go. It's been 3 weeks since I last squatted so wasn't feeling overly ambitious.

bar x loads
60kg x 20
100kg x 10
140kg x 5
170kg x 3
200kg x 1

Back felt like it was going to give out on the 200kg but managed to get it up. Legs felt good for more but felt like there was no stability in my core and my left hip still feels unsteady. No pain though so that's a good sign I suppose.


DB curls -

15kg x 15
15kg x 15
15kg x 15
15kg x 15


Front squat -

80kg x f

Back gave out! What a f**king joke Angry


Incline Hammer curls ss with reverse barbell curls -

15kg x 10 - 20kg x 10
15kg x 10 - 20kg x 10
15kg x 10 - 20kg x 10
15kg x 10 - 20kg x 10


Walking lunges holding a 20kg keg overhead -

x 20 metres
x 20 metres with 10 overhead squats at the end

Overhead keg walk -

50kg x 20 metres
50kg x 20 metres


So my life has now been reduced to arm sessions and pressing until my long awaited appointment with the physio which I have still not heard from! Good to be back training but wish I could do more! Bodybuilding gayness for me for the time being it looks till I can sort myself out. Looks like this year is a loss for sure so will take the time to lose weight, get in better condition and aim to be firing on all cylinders next season Happy Give me a reason to finally try my hand at american football this summer too Grin

Cheers lads thought i'd better rest a couple of weeks as couldn't even on the s**tter without some sort of pain or discomfort! Hopefully I get an appointment sooner rather than later.

Hope you sorted quickly mate.

I know it's not what you want to do but have you thought about either single leg work without any bilateral work. Or maybe even just bodyweight. Looks like you were going well until you the 200 squat. Keep the pressure off you back and you should be able to train something at least.

Shame to hear about the back mate, I suppose that's put any competition plans on hold?

Remember you don't need to keep going heavy every session, you know you are getting stronger if you can increase reps at certain weights aswell.

Thanks mate.

Haven't ever thought of it to be honest as I've never done anything single leg before and I've got limited stuff at mine. I am useless at bodyweight stuff lol! Yea think it is going to be lighter weight and reps for me for the foreseeable future.

Cheers buddy, yea definitely think there is no chance of me making naturals this year unfortunately Unhappy

I've been trying reps and lighter stuff but back just can't take any pressure at the moment and it seems to be effecting everything except bench if i'm honest. Overhead has suffered from it, squatting and deadlifting is basically a no go so not much I can do now!

I've been thinking, can you squat or deadlift anything at all? Could you get some bands and do speed work? Events wise you could go light and hammer home your technique. It really bugs me when mates are in trouble.
