Cheers matey. Paused squats are a b**ch, but I find that they really help me if my regular squat is a bit off, which it has been recently.

nice to see ur back on track. surprised only 4 at 80kg wen iv seen u strict 5 on 80kg log.

excellent work on the log, alot of heavy sets there n at least u know wot ur weakness is on it n its a technique issue rather than strength so shudnt take long to fix

Cheers. My log strict is slightly better than my regular strict for some reason.

I'm confident I'll have the clean sorted pretty soon, and hopefully get to a position were I can clean more than I can press.

Have you tried bottom positions squats? They're an absolute b**ch and a half.

Yeah I tried them before, but I found it too hard to get in a good starting position ans felt I was risking injury, that's why I prefer paused squats, because at least you are in the correct position at the bottom.

I don't do them out of choice only when my training partner fails a lift. He dumps the bar on the safeties, it's fun and games getting under it and squatting it back up and racking it. Glad his attempts aren't much higher than 160kg. Have to get in such a low start position, can almost kiss the floor with my ar****le.

Maybe if we get chance to train together i can teach you to clean a log!

Hixxy could only clean 130 till we did some work... Cleans are easy!

Yeah I have to do that sometimes, but only upto about 120kg. Lucky for me my training partners aren't quite at that level yet.

That's my plan matey. If you notice I'm already trying to copy your clean in my latest videos, well as much as possible Wink I was going to PM you to ask which Sunday is a good time to come and train with you lot. I can't make it this Sunday, but got no plans on the few Sundays after that.

Barbell complex (5 Deadlift, 5 Bent Row, 5 Hang Clean, 5 Military Press, 5 Back Squat)
1 x 1 @ 45kg
1 x 1 @ 55kg
1 x 1 @ 65kg

Videos from today:

Decent session. My hands were hurting too much on the 157.5 deadlifts from were I took the skin off my hand last week, set so I used straps for the last 2 sets. Straps just don't feel right for me but saved my hand from getting worse. Squats were a bit better today, I might start using my belt on the top sets from now on though as they really are hard beltless. Barbell complexes were fun, I bit off a bit more than I could chew with the set at 65 though, I got through it but very slowly.

That complex looks familier mate Wink you should give it a go on an axle, it's even more fun.

I didn't even realise it was the one you'd been doing. It's the Joe DeFranco one isn't it, I used to do it a while back.
