Haha! It's called GodTv and I watch it to remind myself of everything that is bad, manipulative, corrupt and dangerous about religion. I'm also fascinated by it for too many reasons to type on an iPhone, although I may well get drunk and do so later. :-)

When I saw this thread title and starter I just assumed it was about the other faith (NSFW). Disappointing.

As to the other, I think the ancient Greek logic still stands 2000+ years on. If God is able to prevent evil but doesn't, he is not good. If he is willing but unable, he is not the omnipotent God most claim to worship. If he is unwilling and unable, why call him God at all? And if he is both willing and able, why is there suffering? No satisfactory answer to this has, in my opinion, ever been presented, nor can there be one.

another strange thread to have on a strength site! Grin

i personally dont beleive in any type of 'god' and find it strange that people do.
back in the days when people beleived in witches and goblins i can kind of understand but in this day and age with still no proof what so ever? and its not just inbread yanks either there are some clever people who will let the fear of 'god' control their lives. find it all a bit silly.
im glad i was brought up to beleive in whatever i wanted.

I'm a jedi.

If you think i'm mental, it's because i've made you think that, therefor the force is weak in you.

I'm an atheist, if science could prove to me that there is a god then I would believe it, I have said on a few occasions to religious people that....
If science could prove there is NO god would you believe it? they always say no, that can't be right!!

I personally think, religion is completely bonkers and is just blind faith.

I find it difficult to understand how seemingly rational people can believe in such things. Boggles my mind to be honest.

I am pretty much the same as John

And too Millsy - people who worship "the devil" are just plain freaky (IMO of course!)

Excellent thought provoking question in the title Andy

I've always believed in god, although it is of course a lot more comex than that

I dont think god intended us to be anything other than true to ourselves and take the opportunity we have been given

I'm not a fan of anything that is obstructive or takes away from free will though... Which i see is a big reason atheists don't like the idea or religion as a comprehensive subject

Besides, we have proved god exists on numerous occasions
