Opening up at 210 then see if I'm feeling fiesty, cutting down to the 100s at the minuite looking pretty good so far. Even managed to not eat dominos last night.

Just unlucky on the day it's not like I haven't hit 210 just a pisser I never got one in.

Scottish Bench 2010

Weighed in at 99.6kg

Warm Up

140kg x 3 - paused easy enough
170kg x 1 - paused harder than it should have been

Shirt On

Attempt 1 - No Lift



Slowish down and came up pretty slow spotter took it off me before I could lock it (suspect from the video it might have been a dip on the left hand).

Attempt 2 - No Lift



Changed into my trainers since my weight lifting shoes where sliding away from me making leg drive hard. Slowish Down again, came up but arse off the bench - No lift.

Attempt 3 - No Lift



Decent Down pushed up and left leg slipped from under me so no chance of coming up.

The first half of the day was a really good experience good to see the new guys doing really well and ally did f**king well to come back after missing 320 twice. I was gutted that I bombed and other peripheral factors that made the comp jar a bit. But on the whole really good turn out and some decent lifting. Good to see a strong showing for both Juniors and Bench.

i personally dont see anything wrong with your 1st two lifts you locked out and at a good speed, ive seen alot worse given in my 3years of competeing!
but im no judge and i think i would red light every c**t if i had to sit there all day..

I was sure you were going to get it too, on the 2nd attempt I took the left as the bar dropped downward with RHS leading and LHS lagging and did not want to risk something nasty happening - sorry Wink

However your 3rd looked good to me not sure why it got turned down as it was straight up, was probably a combinations of the shirt and the ice rink floor as was pretty slippy so not enough traction.

You will deffo nail more than this next time and considering was your first time in the shirt even more impressive to be honest.

Cheers Ross not to worry I heard the Ref give the call to take it anyway, I'm sure I will do much better next time might bring some spiked track shoes just encase.
