Too much leg dip and you loose a lot of power and basically turn into a squat it should be short and sharp into the bar. If you look at any good jerk you will see not too much of a knee bend examples dimas and kokylev. A good push press is basically a jerk with a press out instead of a dip or split. | ||

finally got a tagline Member 1190, 2812 posts SQ 300, BP 200, DL 350850.0 kgs @ 105kgs UnEq | i dont understand how dimas can get so much leg drive from barely moving his legs, obviously works for him. maybe its because the bars i use are stiff and the oly bars whiplash easier ? always nice watching the top guys make it look so effortless. | ||

Possibly something to do with it but not as much to make a huge diffrence, here he s using a russian bar 200kg x 3 pp, looks much stiffer than the elikos. More you can snap into it the better a drive you will get it's not about taking a wind up it's about using your mechanical advantage (small knee bend) and fast turn over to snap into the bar as much as possible. | ||
