Seeing as i had some zip in the hips today thought i would go straight to push presses! Push Press 65x1 85x1 97.5kgx5 (5rm pb??) missed 6th at lockout, felt strong though Originally down to back squat but thought i would knock on the door of deadlifts to see where my back strength is at, Deadlift (belted) 100x1 150x1 190x1 230x1 270kgx1 best form ive EVER had with this weight, oly is helping my start position massively and transferring to an easier lockout than ever with this weight! Floor Press 80x5 100x2 120kgx2x2 100x8 OH Tri Exts 40x8x3sets All done in 60 minutes, decent intensity for me! Much better connection between 1st and 2nd pull on snatches this week, a little more work under the bar and 100kg powered is there...95 was painfully close...BW snatch would be sweet, but i want 100kg soon! Happy with push presses, these feel better and better with a sharper dip, next time i deadlfit i will either have to go elsewhere or get some thinner plates as the bars at my gym cant take more than 270, a 280+ pull in the next 4 weeks would set me up well for a 6 week block of 18inch and floor work through nov/dec and a 300 pull. A strong lockout and solid start position will need to be maintained for this...and a bit more leg strength i feel! Floor presses were awkward without a spot, if im gonna get benching decent numbers i need to go elsewhere and get a spotter...training by yourself has limitations like this, otherwise though im cracking on and looking forward to every workout! | ||

Hang Power Clean bar work for warm up 60x3x2 80x1x2 100x1 110x1 120x1 125kgx1 PB better than 120, strong pull! 130kgxF....got to shoulders slightly forward...didnt want to go into full squat so it was dumped 105kgx2x2 sets (x1 power clean from floor and x1 hang power clean) Front Squat 100x2 125x1 145kgx4 more in the tank 110x2x2 Wide Chins - BWx8x3sets Db Bench Rowsx8 s/s +30s Mb Oblique Twistsx12-15 e way x3 sets Shoulda coulda woulda with the 130...all things considered a strong pb from the hang though. Leg strength is coming on, a 200kg front squat was an illusion for a long time, but its not far off a reality, IF i can continue the small weekly gains im getting....feel good for 180+ already. Best beltless is 150x3/155x2, so 150x5 next week is the target beltless! | ||

Power snatch 40x5x2 60x2 70x1x3 75x1 80x1 85x1 90kgx1 95kgxF this was the beginning of a frustrating work on, never got my head back on the job after this miss....it was locked and lost! 95xF,F Power clean 80x1 100x1 110x1 120x1 127.5x1 132.5xF,F,F technical glitches but...my head was gone by this stage 122.5xF,F oh dear the first one bounce off my shoulders it was so high..still managed to lose it on the catch, 2nd was dire! Push Press 70x1 90x1 102.5xF was looking for at least a triple...head in the shed! Front Squat (beltless) 100x2 120x1 140x1 150x1 160xF... a nonono squat for the wrong reasons! so 90/127.5 in the same workout hasnt actually happened before...but im disappointed at losing my head after missing what would have been a PB Psn...it f**ked my session, upto 3 workouts between sunday and thursday, lookin at alot of drill work on snatch and full clean, and a seperate upper workout! for now im gonna watch and learn with 85s today! | ||

Thanks Mish, yep i currently belt up for the heavy stuff...did 175 belted from 155x2 beltless...i guess im cheating but f**k need every kg i can get it! Will tape whenever i get a chance but no training partner or anyone else in the gym so a ball ache...+ im being lazy! Yeah im not settled in with the bottom positions.....years of round back deadlifting with poor form have meant some serious re-modelling, actually 10 years ago my start position was ok...but im not 17 anymore and i delved into alot of PL and put back form for weight!!! I still wanna keep developing a broadbase of strength, whether i delve into more WL, back into PL or throwing (shot/discus) keeping my options open i guess. Speed is ok through the hips, ive consciously slowed my first pull some in order to maximise my timing and power through the 2nd pull, im happy that i will be able to complete power derivaates of 100-135 soon with decent form but by no means quality form. Im thinking full lifts after having gained more basic 2nd pull power from these derivatives and once i have more training times for extra drilling, volume at intermediate percentages (60-80%). Its all high intensity low volume at the moment...i will go back to volume soon though and up the training frequency. | ||

Workin on speed and balance into bottom position form high hang, these felt good....to be honest ive been thinking to go full lifts from here on in and now line up a potential december comp! Cleans were a confidence booster too got under 120 comfortably after friays failures! Lookin forward to next workout! | ||

Hang snatch (bottom of thigh) into squat recieve barx5x2 40x3 50x3 50x2x2 60x2 70x1x2 75x1 80kgx1 enjoyed these Snatch 70x1x4 Finito! Figured a few things out today on jerks....namely how the bar is set in my hands before jerking, failure at 120 was purely due to the bar being too much on my fingers rather than my palm. Also setting my feet straight ahead is the only way my back foot will finish straight on the split....years of squatting and deadlifting with my feet slightly turned is probably the biggest cause of this. Snatches from the hang were solid, catching in a deep squat position got easier with load..prob due to inflexible hips. A few singles form the floor into a full squat recieve to line me up for my next session. | ||
