You're technique must be absolutely insanely good on your jerk mate! f**k! ALmost double your strict. You sure that is right?

WILLSAN: Na mate not really pretty much coached myself but used to do a lot of power work/oly lifts as part of training for rugby.
goodwinm: Sadly it is right mate. i'd take a better push press or strict press instead of a jerk if it ment i could lift more on log press! Its more a case of having to jerk the bar cos i have long arms and pretty poor tricep strength at lockout.

Apart from practice practice practice. Involving more explosive movements in workouts.
plyometrics. Box jumps etc. That sort of crap. It does work. Thats how I got from a 92kg push press to a 102kg push press. Originally my push press was the same as my strict. Now that is piss poor technique as well though!

I wouldnt bother with that stuff personally. I increased my leg drive by learning how to power jerk. that way you take the arms out of the lift. I think its easy to start relying on your shoulder strength just doing push press if thats your strength.

At the moment 155kg strict, 185 pp so about 83% I think! My log I have only hit 170 recently but sure I am good for a fair bit more and one motion I did 155 for 2 last week

90% of guys on here will not push press properly mind, look at Clegg 175 push press at 100kgs - the only real difference with the jerk is you don't leave the floor, pretty much everything else should remain the same.
leg drive can also be increased by doing crazy crazy things, like squats - seems alot of strongmen seem to forget this simple solution yet the oly lifters they copy often squat 3 or more times a week.

not sure what you mean? the reason I suggest it is that, although you can press out a power jerk, it doesnt really work that well so it teaches you to rely on your leg drive to get it up. I couldnt push press for s**t until I put in about 6 months on jerks. after that my pushies shot up.

press 100
PP 122.5
jerk, in front of neck 145
all done quite some time ago....would prolly be higher with a few months of concentrated work on them

Strict Press - 130kg
Push Press - 135kg
Log - 140kg
I think this is also down to technique, of which I have none yet being new to the sport.
