Also...say the aim was to power snatch 100kg, but 80/90 felt off, would you repeat that till it was perfect or go up to 100 knowing its perfectly within range.

ive seen lifters fail warm ups, then nail a heavier attempt on the platform. And sometimes my first sets feel crap, but if i stayed on them till they were perfect id be there all day. Within reason, i get better with more weight.

was my warm up today.

bar n 40 to stretch

if heavier ones don't feel right repeat ..

can't find your "line" on kids weights, need to be something you can feel..

in a competition (tri-nations) in 2010 i passed out twice bringing the bar with me both times, i didn't die but.. it wasn't ideal. got the third then passed out into dave sawyers arms. i should of had a spud.

when i was doing it, it was technical stuff session one (snatch variation of some kind and a clean or jerk variation of some kind) then strength stuff session two

so for example

sesh 1
hang snatch upto 80% for 3 sets of 3
power clean 3 singles on 90%
push press 5 doubles on 85%

sesh 2
snatch pulls to knee hold 3 seconds x 3 for 5 sets on 110% of best snatch
backsquat 80% 5 sets of 3

that's just an example of how i worked mine, i'm no Ilin so i'd predict there are better ways.

MrSmall said:140 snatch is officially BIG weights mate! Would have been a great lift. Aren't you injured?
155 150 and 145 were the top 3 69kg snatches at the Euro seniors, that's huge, HUGE HUGEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
I exploded.

Only big if you get it ! i'm kind of injured but i guess most strength sport people always are in some way, ankles, wrists and knees are particularly bad at the mo!

it should "go" soon.

i'm a fully fledged 77 now so those 69 boys would laugh at me.
