Yeah fair play. Most univerisities do allow non-students to pay a higher membership but this lot won't allow it. My training partner is a Strathclyde student so we'll try steal some Indian's matric card and I'll try getting in lol!

Graduates can use it too, but I'm guessing your not a graduate of Strathclyde if they won't let you in. I think you can be signed in on a weekend though, might be worth investigating.

I had to think about this a few times. I actually am a graduate of Strathclyde; I completely forgot. I did my post graduate diploma there.

You're a good man.

There you go then mate, you can use the gym, it'll cost you a little bit more (I think it's £120 till March). Get the phone number of the website and give them a ring about it!

Hmmm. By paying that I'd become a member, or be paying fees at three gyms! I would like to leave LA at one point, however, I've convinced them to bring in equipment so it'd be a bit g*y if I left all of a sudden.

I will have to make an appearance at one point.

I guess gash will be the final decider.

Lol! I don't know what to say to that. It was only a couple of years back as well lol.

Swiftly moving on...

Alright buddy, just back from the comp now it went nicely to plan despite the fact I was ill during the week. Only thing that was down a bit was my bench strength, but still happy with what I got there considering.

I did the following:

180 kgs squat - to my great surprise this was very easy and I was told by experienced lifters watching (Ross Harkins who posts on here being one of them lol) that it looked as if 190 was there. Delighted with this as Squat is my big weakness and took by far the longest to build back up after injuring my back.

150 kgs Bench Press - the 150 felt really easy, tried 155 on my third attempt but it just wasn't there today, 150 kept me on track for my target total though.

250 kgs Deadlift - very pleased with this because it gives me full confidence that my back is totally healed now!

580 Total - this was exactly what my goal for the day was and with the exception of my third bench press I made every lift, so delighted with this!
