I think you're doing the right thing dude. I think that preventing injury to prolong longevity is a must. Hopefully after your de-load, you'll be right back in there to continue progress.

The sets on 120kg looked good and id say better than last weeks reps. The sets on 107.5 looked like speed reps too.

Cheers dude. The weights felt fine, but could really feel it in my shoulders, hopefully close grips will be different on Thu.

The beltless squats and deads looked solid mate!

Have you tried doing some rehab exercises for your shoulders? They always seem to help me when mine flair up....

I tried some close grip benching today to see how my shoulders would feel.

Close Grip Bench Press
1 x 10 20 kgs
1 x 5 60 kgs
1 x 5 80 kgs
1 x 5 100 kgs
1 x 6 112.5 kgs
1 x 8 100 kgs

Military Press
1 x 5 20 kgs
1 x 5 40 kgs
2 x 8 70 kgs

Pull Ups 3 x 10 BW + 24 kgs

Conclusion - they still hurt and limit me even on close grip benching, though bizarrely not on strict overhead pressing. The pull ups still felt easy.

Overall this was still a good session but I am definitely going to stick to my plan of cutting the weights right back for a while on bench press movements as of next week.

Just cut the volume right back I had to take 6 months off flat pressing due to a retarded programme I concocted 3 years ago. I get a bit of pain now and again but can train pretty heavy and with decent volume. Incline barbell press and dips are a no go these days because they hurt like f**k but I just train round it and choose variations that don't hurt.

My problem is my AC joint which is a c**t and hates benching.
