My hamstrings, glutes and lowerbody in general was still sore from the squat workout on Monday so things did feel harder than they normally should, but still easy. Things went a little like this ... Deadlifts 1 x 10 70 kgs 1 x 5 120 kgs 1 x 1 160 kgs 1 x 1 200 kgs (Warmed up too heavy as forgot new routine started with lighter weights) 4 x 4 175 kgs 2 x 2 205 kgs 1 x 8 175 kgs Good Mornings 2 x 6 120 kgs Hyper Extensions 2 x 12 Body Weight + 40 kgs Barbell Shrugs 1 x 10 220 kgs 1 x 8 220 kgs | ||

Things went a little like this ... Bench Press 1 x 15 50 kgs 1 x 5 80 kgs 2 x 8 100 kgs Pushdowns 2 x 12 8 plates (the machine we used for this today is a bit crap and the stack isn't even numbered in terms of the actual weight of the plates) Weighted Dips 2 x 8 BW + 50 kgs Pulldowns 2 x 12 100 kgs Rear Delt Cable Flyes 2 x 12 12 kgs per side Reverse Barbell Curls 2 x 12 40 kgs | ||

I think it's fair to say I over did things a little bit at Halloween and that combined with very sore hamstrings and lower back did not set me up for a good session today! I knew things were gonna be really tough, but Squat is my big weakness so I bumped the weights up from last week and just toughed it out. Things went a little like this ... Squats 1 x 10 60 kgs 1 x 5 80 kgs 1 x 2 100 kgs 1 x 2 120 kgs 2 x 8 145 kgs Paused Squats 2 x 5 135 kgs Seated Leg Press Calf Raises 2 x 15 190 kgs (all stack goes up to sadly) Hip Adduction Machine 1 x 25 145 kgs 1 x 22 145 kgs Crunches 2 x 30 Body Weight Weighted Side Bends 2 x 25 25kgs each side This was probably the toughest Squat session I've ever done, alot of the reps were slow and a real battle to complete, but regardless I still managed to hit all my reps for this week so I am delighted with this. As I found out at my last competition things aren't always gonna go your way and your not always gonna be in top condition so hitting my targets for the day despite the circumstances was a good achievemnt for me. | ||
