Great to have the vids up.

Cheers Ross! Yeah was delighted with the 250, do you remember the first time I trained at the Palace this year and we were deadlifting and I was delighted just to hit 215 kgs again haha! Thank goodness things have improved alot since then!

Haha yeah Neill looked like he was suffering big time, fair play to him for battling through the day though!

Ok so I figured I'd start logging a few things once more. I make no secret of the fact that my squat is poor, especially in relation to my other lifts, so it's time to fix that!

Today I started a high volume high frequency squatting routine, hopefully this will help me improve alot, we shall soon see.

Week 1 Day 1 Crazy Squat Routine
1 x 5 60 kgs
1 x 3 80 kgs
1 x 2 100 kgs
4 x 9 125 kgs

As you can imagine with it being the first day in the routine it is the easiest of the lot, felt odd doing higher reps for a change, but I enjoyed it. Day 2 on wed so we shall see how that goes ...

Are all of your main sets going to be with high reps in your new routine??

Lol no mate, the reps will drop each session during the week and then back up to 9 the next Monday. Wouldn't fancy doing the high reps every session, it would feel too much like cardio. Grin

It's alot of squatting but I think that's what I need to get good at it.

Suppose by doing high reps allows you to work on the form slightly and I tried adding 8,s into mine but recovery times wasn't good for me.

Mate, Charlie asked me to let everyone know that none of the bars are to be used inside the racks and people are to be spotted at all times.

The 'old' bar is slightly bent at both ends; don't know if it's from wear and tear or dropping in the rack. Don't know if you use them in the rack or not, but after the 1st Texas got f**ked in the rack it's policy for none of the good bars to be used, just the s**tty chrome ones, inside the racks.

Just wanted to ensure everyone who uses the bars is aware of this.

Hope the squat routine goes well for you!

No bother mate, it's for the best I guess.

I never normally use them in the racks, today I used Andy's bar he got off the Killie club in the power cage, no probs were had fortunately as weight was light. I'll just go back to normal and squat outside of the cage in future just in case.

Yeah true. It's actually smolov that I'm giving a shot (though I call it "Crazy Squat Routine"). I guess it's designed to kind of overload your body and force you to improve rapidly, but time will tell if it will be successful for me or not.

Cheers buddy.

Yeah I know what you mean, I've made good progress on my lifts with routines I've made up myself, especially on bench press. Just figured I'd give smolov a pop on this occassion and see what happens. I'll retest my max in 4 weeks so should have a good measure of how successful it is then.
