alright youngy just been checking out ye vids good work mate and nice pbs need a few more myself and looks like theres more too ye squat then just 152.5kg and have u tryed a 1 rep dead lately reackon theres more then 175 there too and u in any comps this year mate?

Boar : Cheers. What squat? You talking about the singles at 152.5kg? If so the video is on the last page but just for your benefit! There is definately more there, the last time I done this although we will never know if it was to depth was like an all out effort. This time I done them as 3 easy singles while training on my own (no spot). Definately more there was just wanting to lift some heavy weight without trying to max out.



Turbokid : Cheers mate. I'de like to think theres more to all my lifts at the moment.

I tried a 200kg deadlift straight after 162.5kg x 5 in my last deadlift session. I dont think it moved more than 5 cm from the ground and I just about blacked out so I was happy with that effort haha. Theres maybe 180-185 there at a guess. My deadlift is pretty weak compared to my other lifts I think and after todays escapades I think this might be down to grip so I'm going to work on that a bit more in the coming months.

As far as comps go well I would have liked to do the scottish unequipped on july 27th but the way my holidays have worked out it will ruin my training. Basically go away in 2 weeks for a week back for 2 weeks then away again then back for 2 and it would be the champs so not ideal prep. I'll give this one a go next year though as I'll be at the top end of the U20 catergory rather than the bottom end like I would have this year. The junior scottish open is on november 1st and there is no unequipped category but I plan on lifting in that to get a bit of experience. When I get back from my holidays I'm going to step up my training and when I get back to uni will hopefully be doing a bit more cardio so I should be able to lose some un-needed fat and add some muscle to become a pretty solid 78kg and maybe be able to cut to 75kg with a little water manipulation. I'll not worry too much about dropping weight though and would be happy to stay at 82.5kg

sounds like ye busy mate and there ye main sets on deads too just do a warm up build then try a 190 and if it goes try a 200 give ye self good rest b4 though if u got it off the floor should go on a gooday and up 2 u bout diets mate i havent been lifting for long actually bout 5 month but i tryed dieting and became weaker and got a rib injury and how tall are u by the way mate?

Haha cool.

I might try some PB's next week but apart from that I'm just following Jim Wendlers as it was and doing some rep work for a few months instead of trying to max out all the time.

As with the diet. I wont be working on a calories defecit. I could quite easily lean up if I only ate healthy and nutritious stuff. My diet is full of junk. I know what I have to do here I just love eating and eating kebabs and stuff.

I was thinking more of stepping up my training intensity and doing atleast one HIIT type thing after each workout in order to boost up my metabolism.

up to u mate unless u train as u are then suprise ye self at comp times and i know what u meat bout the calories and kababs rule Happy

and i used to do the cardio after weights 30 mins and was haveing bout 2500 calories roughly maybe 2800 and still lost a stone in 6 weeks just at the 6th week felt worn down like hell and just stick to a weight ye compy at and make sure u dont have too kill ye self to make the weight like i could make 67kg but decided to build up as a 75kg lifter as ill gain better and less chance ov injureing my ribs on belt again

Yeah I know what you mean. Whatever I do I'm carrying too much fat at the moment so I want to lose that and pack on some good muscle to stay at 82.5kg or if I'm a solid 78kg then I'll do some water manipulation to make weight.

Whatever it is though there will only be a couple of KG's in it, not going to go crazy.

how tall are u youngy

and as long as ye stay over 8% bodyfat u should keep ye strength and ye could just stay at a 82.5 and just strength build and stay lean

Oh yeah sorry I'm 5ft 7 and a quarter mate.

I'm probably getting close to 20% bodyfat at the moment so no real danger of that!

13% would put me about 77kg which would be ideal.

ha ha quality youngy and a quarter lol Happy and ye should be sound for any diet mate ull be a ok for 75kg just diet wisely just watch night time carbs

Im back.

Been away on a few holidays and stuff and had a wee break from training, That coupled with breaking my laptop has meant that I havent really been online.

So here I go again. Havent devised a real training plan yet just doing random full body workouts to ease myself back into it then I' ll probably make myself up a 3 day split in some form or another.

I have put on over a stone and now I'm sitting at about 90kg so some fat loss might be on the cards but dont bet on it.
