After watching Eddie's home tour, it had me thinking.

He's invested so much into his fight with Thor it makes me thinks he's setting himself up for a more long term career.

He's bought:
A 7m hyper pool.
A chriochamber.
A boxing ring.
3 rooms dedicated to training / workouts.
Moved a full time training partner into his guest house located on his premises.
He's building a full recovery / spa in his garden.
He's refusing to train at local gyms so he doesn't catch any illnesses.

I know he's getting good money for this fight but I reckon, he's been told that if he beats Thor he will get a big fight deal with the UFC or something.

Thoughts?

Won't be UFC as they don't have a SHW class but wouldn't surprise me if it's a long ish term plan of something similar.

Re-match...both fights with a good payday.

He also wants to train for the rest of his life...most of the top guys have their own facility.

Brian, Thor, Kielz, Z, Licis soon...

Look man. I know he is big and dedicated, even single minded in his determination but he is one of the least movement oriented, fight coordinated people I have seen. He isn't new to boxing. He had trained a few years back. He was pretty poor.

MMA wise, there are several obvious crossovers, including Oli Thompson.

Heck, even Aurild Haugen had some kind of boxing movement.
I'd be shocked if he Eddie has any kind of success at all, or even looks remotely good (even for a novice).

Koklaev would put a beating on Eddie. True story.

This commentary isn't spite. Observation.

I've really no idea why he's doing so much weight training and why he seems to be happy to sit at 160kg+. At this rate, Thor can just wait for him to gas out in the first minute, and then just take his time in landing a punch or two. A 170kg Thor is going to be way more fight ready than a 160kg Eddie, though it will still be a dull fight

I haven't followed it much, but Eddie seems very switched on career wise, and will no doubt be looking to capitalise on this situation from a financial and career standpoint.

Also, I think that the publicity the winner get's from this will be very lucrative and will certainly propel them into the limelight more.

The loser will have egg on their face too, especially if it's a genuine KO or defeat.

A draw or controversial finish will lead to a rematch of course... Which is more money.

Eddy has more personality than Thor of course, but Thor is more a visual appeal guy being that he is a 7ft freak.

However, to think they will get a fighting career out of this is IMO a complete non starter bar exhibition freak show fights for rich arabs etc.

Normally I would laugh if someone was trying to start a new career in boxing at his age, however Heavyweights can get by with limited skill compared to lighter divisions

They also have more longevity

Martin rogan didn't start boxing until around age 30 and he did OK for himself

Now the negative side

Eddie is already a pretty rich guy and likely set up for life, while making good money on social media and other avenues

He has shown to be a driven guy, but Will he be hungry enough to put in the road work and everything necessary to excel?

Guys that only have holes in their pockets will be more driven, aggressive and hungry to succeed

Whilst I have no doubt Eddie is a tough guy on the street, can anyone picture him fighting a top heavyweight and not being knocked out? Someone like Dubois would literally take his head off in a round or 2

Personally I think this will be his only fight, or maybe a rematch with thor

However, I predict after watching these guys, not too many will be that keen on a rematch

Unless there is the intention of relaunching the K1 style freak shows with 600lb sumo type fighters boxing a 175lb Thai boxer then it's a non-starter for Ed, in my opinion. Personally, I think Thor is going to win as he's better suited to his size and his height it going to be a big advantage, especially going up against someone who has no "proper" boxing experience.

I really do think this is going to be dire, however, you only have to read all the comments on FB or Insta and see all the fanboys lapping it up, saying how Eddie will destroy Thor, the mountain will crumble yada yada yada. I just don't see it happening.

Thor is more athletic and has much more reach

He could win by learning a jab and grab Eddie any time he gets close

Basically just stay in his range and just out of Eddies, circle and jab to keep Ed off balance

Whenever eddie dives in, counter with heavy one twos

Eddie would need good footwort and throw from angles

If he can slip the jab and throw heavy hooks, that could do some damage

Both guys should work the body, but especially ed

Even though he is the smaller man, he can still utilise a hard jab to the body to set up his own attack

I just fancy the bigger, more athletic man winning this

That's a gut feeling

We havent seen either guy take a punch, so who knows what punch resistance is like?

I just hope both guys shed a s**t load of weight, or they will be gassed after 2 rounds

According to his latest video Eddie:

1) is now 165kg.. which means he's gained weight recently.
2) is training 12 hours strength a week, plus
3) 4 hours boxing
4) 2 hours cardio
5) and cardio is "hard"

who is advising him? I know nothing about boxing and I can tell you that's an awful, awful game plan

I'd say he's (inverse) gaslighting but you can see from the shape he's in that the above must me more-or-less accurate

Looks pretty accurate from what I've seen.
