Good luck with the running. Personally the only time I run is for last orders. But I have sold my Soul to the 1RM devil! Running would invalidate the contract!

Seriously though you have to know what you want to priortize and cut back on the other stuff. I think you have the right idea only running once a week or so.

Yeah you're right and I'm going to stick to that from now on. 1 run per week (10km) and that's it. I'm liking PL too much and if one has to go then it's running. However, I want to retain some of my CV fitness so once a week should do it and will probably even help my lifting to some extent in terms of overall fitness.

One of my goals of 2007 was to do an under 50min 10km. That isn't going to happen now, no way. However, my PL goals are well on target Happy

So much for a complete week off. I just had to sneak into the barn for a quick bench session. It comes to something when you start to dream about doing deads etc. Oh well back to normal officially next week.

Friday 22nd June

Bench: 53 x 6, 73 x 3, 93 x 5 x 3. 4mins rest between.
Power cleans + push press: 50 x 3 x 5. 3mins rest between.

Just getting used to the action of power cleans with a push press combined. These remind me of burpees way back in the day, i.e. knackering.

nice benching Neil when you start using an olympic bar you,ll probably add5to10k on your bench straight away just because the bar is more stable.I would have thought 93x5
would mean a one rep max of more than 100 next time you try for one!

That surprised me, I get why I'd deadlift more with an Olympic bar because it's further up my shins to start with, but with bench I figured it wouldn't make any difference. However, I'm pleased to hear it and I'd happily take another 5kg! Happy

BTW, maybe I wrote it down wrong but that's meant to say 93kg by 5 sets of 3 reps. Still I hope next time I try out for a 1RM I beat my current 100kg. I won't try until I can give 110kg a decent go. Same for deadlift, I'll wait until I can expect to get 200kg. Maybe in a couple of months or so.

I think its because the olympic bar weighs 20 kilos as opposed to about 10 for a standard so the weight distribution seems a bit more stable.( this may be utter bo***cks as it is just my opinion and not based on any solid facts)

I guess that makes sense, a more evenly distributed weight would be more stable.

Monday 25th June

DL: 90 x 6, 130 x 2, 160 x 2, 180 x 2, 180 x 2 (see video), 130 x 5. 4-5mins rest between.
widegrip chins: BW x 3 x 8. 2mins rest between.
BB rows: 60 x 3 x 8. 2mins rest between supersetted with curls below.
BB curls: 36 x 3 x 8.

Today I wanted to try to lift heavyish so I figured if I could do a couple of sets of 2 at 180kg that would be cool. I did it, but they were tough. I'll go back to sets of 5s next week. Nice to change it around a bit though.

180kg x 2

Managed to get the aspect ratio a little messed up on this - not sure how, I'm not that tall and thin normally Happy

Thanks to boar for the improved software, now I can edit out all that mincing back and fourth to the camera and put up some wizzy text going across. I'm hoping I'll soon be able to sort out the aspect ratio too!

i export as a quicktime (.mov) file , which are quite small and youtube accepts - the ratio is 320 x 240 , however i cant have scrolling numers as they become distorted

That'll be it then, I exported as mpg. It looked ok in the viewer but when it got uploaded to youtube it came out a bit wrong. I'll try .mov next time cheers.
