You see I own one and do use it rarely, but I firmly believe things taste better done in the oven or on the hob so will always do that where I can

I also toyed with the idea of starting a food blog of just the interesting things I eat throughout my day to day life

Do it. I'll do it too if you do Happy.

Or maybe we should do a Sugden food blog. Hmmm.

Nick - it's great fun and hugely satisfying. You hit a certain point where you start to get a sense of what you're doing, and after that it's much easier. I'm solitary by nature, to answer your question.

I ate a lot of egg (4), chips (five spuds, only one big one though), bread and butter (five slices), and I'm still f**king ravenous. FFS.

Defo do one, love reading and seeing your delicious meals especially cos living in the sandpit its f**kin nigh on impossible to get anyhting remotely like what you guys get to eat. Obviously no pig whatsoever (except stuff I've smuggled in - which ain't much) and no real booze (home made booze doesn't quite have the right finesse!) to cook with. There are also very few decent restaurants and the ones that are cost upwards of £80 a head, which i wouldn't mind paying for michelin quality, but htis is a long way off that!

Anyway, keep going witht he food porn please Grin

Thanks man. That genuinely means a lot.

I really need to get my s**t together, wind the carbs back, start cooking seriously again, etc. I'm just in survival mode until half term now though (Friday week).

Tonight, I went to a vegetarian restaurant.

It was amazing.

I'll try and remember the details tomorrow.

Went to the pub for tea Happy

Devilled whitebait in cracked black pepper with tartare sauce.
Gourmet steak burger with ementhal and smoked bacon.
Sticky fig, cranberry and date sponge and custard.

Two pints of the black stuff, lovely.

Also, set menu, so 14 quid for the grub!

The Mrs has just seared some lamb shanks and put them in the slow cooker with a red wine, onion, juniper and cranberry sauce.

I'll report back tomorrow evening, but I have high hopes.

I agree with the blogger/twitter consensus: Mughli is the best Indian restaurant I've been in, end of story. The fact that it's not even mentioned in that article is plain weird.
