Squats were easy, bench was very hard for some reason. All sorts of tricep and delt aches going on. Deadlifts were easy. Knackered so passed on accessories and went and bought steak, Salmon and chicken.

Good work.

Gutted about the calf work though, we're never gonna get you on stage without them. Unhappy

Great last session. Big contrast to how I train in terms of volume.

Similar strength (well, maybe not right now) but you do 4-6 heavy sets whereas I just work up to one.

Dam injury. All the heavy volume keeps the body used to it.

After moving house last sunday to a whole new area, finding an awesome gym on my doorstep made it more fun moving. I trained up until Friday, and then in the session decided, what the hell, I'll compete on Sunday. The comp was done on Wilks, which made it very interesting. I'm not 100% sure on placings in each event, but I'll edit this as and when I know better details. Weighed in at 91.0kg on the dot.

Event one - Max Strongman Squat, camber bar, to platform.
Opened with an easy 170kg, not wanting to go too hard in case it was harder than expected. Second lift was a 185kg, moved nicely, so had to try something special. 195kg on the bar, feeling apprehensive, more than I've had on a bar ever. Salts in my face, under the bar, fastest rep of the day, good lift, Took 1st place on the event!!

Event 2 - Max Floor to Overhead Axle.
I am a weak presser, working progress, and after maxing axle last week wasn't confident. Opened conservatively with what I think was 85kg. Solid, no issues. second lift, 95kg, bit of drama on lockout, but solid. 3rd lift, 105 for a PB, but I have a rule, if I can't powerclean it, the press won't happen anyway. Gave it a good shot but not today. 6th on wilks I think here.

Event 3 - Max Strongman deadlift, Raw, no straps.
Excited for this, as I was feeling good with my 5 @ 202.5kg just 48 hours before. Opened with a very comfy 220kg, loaded bar to 235kg for a PB second lift, pulled no issues, had to make the most of this. Attempt 3, 250kg on the bar, nose full of salts, grip and rip. Boom, no hitching, no slow point, Massive Massive 17.5kg PB. 5th on Wilks.

Event 4, Max Yoke bench/lockout.
Not another press Unhappy Was initially opening with an 80kg, tried 110 in warm ups as it was set up, easy lift, so opened on 110kg, solid lift. second attempt 120kg, solid lift. 3rd attempt, maybe too big a jump, 130kg, Fail. Work ON lockout. Somewhere like 7th on wilks, :'(

Event 5 (Final) Medley, 230kg Yoke 20m, 80kg Sandbag 20m, 230kg Sled drag 20m.
Absolute killer. Lot of people struggling with yoke, went into this a little over confident, but managed to keep my calm. Happy enough with pace on the yoke, no drops, same on the sandbag. Never done a sled drag before, it hurt. A lot. But I finished the course in 51 seconds. 3rd place here.

Overall absolutely killed myself, squats will be fun on tuesday, but 2nd place in my second competition. Cannot be happier with my performance.
