Thanks bud Happy Not sure if there are anymore this year like this, tbh I just want to get my head down now and get my total up - I feel experienced enough to get on with it now!

I needed to taper my squat but ran out of time after injury and re-learning, ideally I'd like to have gone after my 160kg 5x5 week to 170kg 3x3 then 175kg 2x2 then hit the comp with the 185kg. The Mrs un-believeably messed up the filming of the 185 squat but I think my mate has it on his phone so will try to get it up - I failed it half way up! Never failed there before, I think I need some squatting against band work, maybe even half squats on top of my paused and normal work. Bench got about half way up but couldn't lock it, very odd as I've got 145kg heavily fatigued before - its just the set up felt so different, no excuses I just wasn't strong enough on the day on bench, I will be next time Happy

Awesome work mate and looked a good day. Got to love it when you get your lass to film the lifts all you can hear is them cheering. And have to agree with nails your crazy hitting the gym again today lol

Cheers bud, the mrs is awesome - my biggest and best supporter closely followed by my kids - the smallest being the loudest!

Needed to get in there mate, still itching to lift! Pretty sore now tho!

Nice work mate, lets see how you get on with a proper run at things.

I'm also a fan of Klokov pressing and I think it is important to maintain some sort of overhead strength. Strong shoulders can only help your bench.

How is the recomp going? And what is your aim? Are you planning to hold at 105 or maybe switch weight class.

Cheers mate Happy Yeah I'm re-setting my 5x5 squats to 130 too and building back up, hopefully get to 170kg x 5 x 5 by the end.

Yup I used to love klokov's so figure it would be nice to give them another run but this time as an assistance lift, it can only help things.

Recomp has stalled of late as diet been pretty hit and miss unusually for me, but had some good comments lately saying I looki lighter than what I weigh so I guess its working. I had toyed with a cut to make 93kg weight class but I'm too tall for it I think and always look ill once I approach that kind of weight plus my pressing and squatting will go down the bog so I want to stay in under 105's and recomp at around the 100kg mark, its a decent weight for me, need to sort diet out now and slowly get the sprinting back in there - made a start on that one today Happy

Just noticed that you mentioned some exercises to stop you failing halfway up on the squat - might I suggest that you leave them until you are more established in your 'new' squat form first? I am not saying the other work won't help but it might take some focus away from where it needs to be.

Just my $0.02.

Cheers mate and its a good point- I have banded squats in as an assistance anyway as I have for a while but my primary work is 5x5 squats and paused squats to re-enforce my technique, not going to mess too much as its been working.

Mad man training straight after, that said, I ain't surprised. Nice couple of sessions.

Sounds like you have a plan, I reckon the 600 total can be yours all being well in a few months! Happy

Lol! I was the only one rocking those yellow bad boys so knew I'd do ok!

Trainings Monday felt awesome mate, today I was feeling it a bit but luckily I have reset weights and building up again!

600 is close now mate, next comp I will be well past it, added 27.5kg onto my comp total between 1st and 2nd comps so want at least that again!!
