It is mate and i'm detemined to get it and paused too. I'm a poor presser naturally but i think hard work and sensible progression will see me get there one day!

Illness starting to shift i think at last so hopeful for a good big press session later. I've reset weight in my main paused bench exercise so should start a nice long build up now ending with a 145kg paused bench at least i hope, maybe 150 if i'm lucky.



3rd day of phase 1 zero carb backloading and i feel good, moving into ketosis well i feel and have plenty of energy, if this is just because ilness is going i don't know but i'm feeling good on it so i'll take it. 4lb drop in 3 days, looking tighter too, still not down to pre xmas weight tho lol! Another few days and i will be tho.

lol nice when that works out like that. honestly i think u cud hit 170+ bench this year if u keep progressing like you have been, definately a 160 paused at least. good to hear the illness has shifted now go smash some weights

Cheers Dom. Mate to hit a 170 tng this year would be like the stuff of dreams! I would love to hit that weight at current weight! I'm not naturally gifted at pressing at all so i have to put in alot of work and be sensible how i progress but i reckon the next few years could see some good progress. I've been doing this nearly 20 years now lol but wasted so much time when younger which is annoying but i intend hitting some big weights the next few years now! Wish i had the internet back when i was 15, so much info on here i could have used! Everything i done was trial and error, mostly error lol!!

ye its a shame how much time a lot of waste when we start just through bad advice or no idea at all. i kinda wasted the 1st 2 years of my training aswell but nevermind, what matters is we are on the right path now.

True mate, i think you have a ton of potential tbh, especially when it comes to pressing. The help you can get off of here makes a huge difference, so many massively strong lifters with much much knowledge to steal lol!

Reset to 125kg today, huge 20 total rep PB. Best was 130kg for a very tough 10 and struggled with 2 singles @132.5kg before my max pb of 137.5kg. I decided on a double to begin with to see how it felt, a good 3-4 there easily i'd say. I will go to 127.5kg x 15-20 singles next week then aim for 15 with 130kg the week after and so on. Happy enough with these today as still not feeling 100% too. I think i had another 5 singles at least there today which is very encouraging for next week.

Feeling pretty light today, getting form down better now, they feel very tough on delts and triceps. Increase to 105kg x 10 singles next time. Decent enough. I did throw up after these tho, illness still not shook off.

Well failed to get my 6 x 4 sets today, tough going after the other work. Not worried i'll just keep working towards it before moving onto 85% 5 x 5, still work got done.

Finished with tons of dislocations, distractions, shoulder horns, lying L flyes and plate halos. The L flyes felt superb and feel like they really help my shoulder. I also did a little bit of work for the biceps using my 3" axle for curls and reverse curls for high reps.

Decent session despite throwing up, bench strength climbing nicely, i can see 145kg getting paused before too long. Tough session tho and feeling it a bit, just had a huge plate of ribs and peppers and feeling far better but aching alot. Another big session due tomorrow, the return week has gone well so far.
