to play devil's advocate, telling a shop that heels are better than flats when both are valid is pretty dumb tbh.

not to excuse their s**tty customer service though lol, how appalling.

I do wonder how many people really "need" a heel after seeing this vid:

On the subject of squat shoes I'm actually going to get an oly shoe for squats and overhead, and hopefully bring my stance in a little..

Does anyone else like these?

It has certainly helped my squats as i have a narrow stance, it has however caused a bit of calf pain.

A heel is not required .............

If your ankles are flexible enough you don't need one. Not will you need one if you squat wide stance, low bar and feet out engaging glutes and hamstrings more than quads (ala the way Paul McCaffrey squats)

I think a lot depends on your stance. Narrow tends to be heal, wide with feet turned outward flat is better. I do both tbh and they feel quite different

Apparently, the only reason they were barefoot is because all their luggage was lost at the airport. The shoes they were wearing in the contest were borrowed.

I'm fairly sure they'd have been training in heels had they been able to. Happy
