Not feeling very strong!

BW - 92.3kg - I suspect that has got something to do with it...

I can't wait to start getting stronger...

I've got a couple of pics on my phone, but don't really know how to put them on here, and don't particularly want to! LOL

Wednesday 22nd October

Front squat
60kg x 3
100kg x 3
130kg x 1
142.5kg x 1

Felt really heavy. They always do the day after back squats - probably not the best idea to carry on doing these on this day...

Snatch off blocks
40kg x 3
60kg x 3
70kg x 3
80kg x 3

Power clean + jerk
60kg x 2
80kg x 2
100kg x 2

Tough!

Close grip bench press
60kg x 5
100kg x 3
112.5kg x 8

Quite excited about starting my hybrid strongman / weightlifting training after my hols!

I couldn't choose which one I wanted to do fully, so I'm going to do both! I think it might work well as frequent weightlifting destroys me, so two days a week should be manageable plus two days strongman.

There is only really one way to be sure and that's to try it

There can be a balance I think as long as you bring down some of your individual goals...maybe

Either way good luck

Possibly something to consider is to look at focusing your strongman training into specific movements that you want to focus on... Or just f**king smash everything Grin

Your journal will be the only hybrid one and an attractive one at that... Under 90kg heavyweight world championships becons!

I've not been able to make my mind up for the last two+ years what I want to do. Now I have made the decision and I feel very happy.

I don't think I need to lower my weightlifting goals as I never got anywhere near what I could / should have done - PBS are 95kg / 130kg and I don't think I'd be too far off those numbers, even in my current emancipated state.

Strongman training will focus around my weaknesses on the two days I train it. Obviously some things will carry over from one sport to the other e.g. push press on my weightlifting day will transfer over to log press for strongman and other similar examples. (Funny though that it all seems to carry over from weightlifting to strongman - not so sure there is any carry over the other way?)

After my holiday I'll start my reverse diet and see what happens with the BW.

Apparently there's a weightlifting comp in January which I would like to do. I'll probably still be in the 94s then as I can gain 4-5kg BW and still make 94kg comfortably, which is plenty of weight to gain in a couple of months.

I may compete in a lifting competition in January or at the latest spring... Off three weightlifting sessions a week

It will be my first one in a long time and I will be achieving my progressive goals through this

World records need to be done at continental or Olympic Games or some other iwf sanctioned event like a Grand Prix you should be aware

It would be great to share a platform with you.

I'm thinking more towards the end of the year for World records, before I go full time UFC.

It's just adding calories back in slowly and progressively (the opposite of how I dieted) to avoid gaining a load of fat quickly. Should help me stay leaner as I look to gain weight.

Can't wait for a week of luxury! Grin

Friday 24th October

60kg x 3
100kg x 3
130kg x 1
140kg x 3

Power snatch
50kg x 3
60kg x 3
70kg x 3
80kg x 2

Jerk
50 kg x 3, 1
70kg x 2
90kg x 2
110kg x 2
125kg x 2
130kg x 1
135kg x f, f close!

Push press
90kg x 3
110kg x 1

Epic cheat week begins... Grin

I fully expect to be around 100kg next week. I'll spend a couple of weeks dieting as I have been this week (strict) to get off some of the bloat, then I can start the reverse diet from a better starting point. I am looking forward a long, gradual process of weight (and strength!) gain!
