obviously not an operation you would partake in jonny.

Im getting a feel for some different strongman type lifting so mabie i could have a sesh sometime at the dunge

I'm back!

PC died on me a week or 2 ago hence no internet access. Treated myself to a nice wireless fella so no excuses now.

Training has been going 'not three bad'. I'd like to say I'm as strong as an ox but in all honesty I'm as weak as I have been for a long time after my 'summer of fun'. Back on the right path now though. Training for last week and last night:

Mon 3/9

Powerclean and power jerk
60kg x 3, 70kg x 2, 80kg x 1, 90kg x 1, 95kg x 1, 100kg x 1, 105kg x 1

Powerclean 105kg x 2 missed third, these were ugly too
Powerclean and power jerk 80kg x 5 hard work!

1 arm DB press
20kg x 3, 30kg x 3, 40kg x 3 both arms

17 inch deadlifts
100kg x 3, 140kg x 3, 180kg x 3

Seated DB press
15kg x 10, 25kg x 8, 35kg x 10

Band dislocates


Wed 5/9

Wide grip chins
BW x 5, +15kg x 5, +25kg x 5

Chest supported rows
50kg x 8, 70kg x 8, 90kg x 8

Hammer pulldowns

DB rows

17.5kg x 8, 27.5kg x 6, 37.5kg x 4 getting them up into position took a lot out of me.

Band dislocates


So there it is. Weak but progressing. Back felt stiff on Monday but trained through it and it seems OK. Looking forwards to setting some PB's soon. Creatine and protein consumption has been resumed. Will start getting some vids of my training soon with my new digi camera.

Wed 12/9

Wide grip chins
BW x 5, +15kg x 5, +27.5kg x 5, BW x 15 ez

Supine rows (feet in flat bench)
BW x 15,15,15 not as easy as I thought they'd be

Palms facing close grip chins
BW x 10,8,10

Incline rear delt flies
12.5kg x 12,12,12

Incline DB curls
12.5kg x 10,8,6,6

Concentration curls
12.5kg x 10,8

My biceps are amazingly weak. I need to put a bit more emphasis on them so when I eventually get a tyre I can Daddy it.

On other related gym news I've 'acquired' some barrels (just need to fill them and get a couple of bigger ones).

Whats the plans for the event training now mate? Every now and again

Ive gotta pick some stuff up from Cumbria in the next month or two and my old training parter has offered to drive up. Hopefully we'd be able to pop in for some dungeon fun. That be ok?

You need to get a tyre. I think thatd be a real solid addition to your training and a really good way of getting some hardcore cardio in.

I've got 3. A mate of a mate (who happens to own a brewery, Bank Top to be precise) dropped 2 off. They are great, totally empty and de-pressurised with plugs to put in the holes when I do fill them. They are not massive barrels though. The other barrel was dropped off by a mate (he 'found' it) - this one is medium sized and I have no idea whatsoever how to get into this one. In fact it seems impossible to me. All I have to do is get a couple of bigger ones and I'll be rockin'.

Joni, the plan on Sunday(s) for me from now on involves no log. Don't see the point as it's an axle and DB press at the comp so will focus on them during the week. So, log and farmers alternated weekly (heavy), a grip event, a medley of some sort and stones. You are welcome to do log though (and knowing me I'd probably just join in and do it anyway!). How does that look to you?

whats comp are you planning to do next jon ?

im gonna keep my eye open for a barrel or 2 , not sure about depressurising them, might blast a poison spear thru my skull or similar.
