Just wonderd how serious guys on here took their diets

Preparing meals in bulk?
Weighing out food ?
Calculating macros?

If you take it serious why do you do it ?

If you don't why don't you ?

Apart from the last 3 weeks where I've eaten like a greedy f**ker, I've been 100% with my diet all year.

6 meals a day. All prepared at the latest the morning of each day.

I record everything I eat. I weigh all my food. I know my exact macros.

Why do I do it? No idea!
To be honest, I have a big footy match coming up in 10 days but after that is out the way I'm going to loosen up my diet A LOT.

Getting and maintaining 'ripped' is a terrible waste of life.

I find it interesting how people associate taking a diet serious with being ripped or low body fat and not the fact it will increase thing performance which as strength athletes is all we should care about

I really don't think diet is crucial to performance certainly not as a strength athlete. Sufficient calories and protien (spaced throughout the day perhaps), everything else is pretty much noise as long as your not malnourished.

Only if being a strength athlete defines you. I'm not only a strength athlete so my life is not exclusively about gaining strength.

Strength training is more of a hobby for me though I am doing a meet in end of may. Suppose I'm entering in a lighter weight class so I try to gain strength while cut a bit of fat simultaneously. Not easy but can be done.

I often forget that people don't obsess over strength training like I do which isnt a bad thing

I drive myself mad with it all its the first thing I think about when I wake up and the last thing I think about at night abit sad really but I'm abit all or nothing and often wish I wasn't

im kind of inbetween, i dont count cals to the dot, or macros but have a rough idea. i usually eat the same food most days so i dont have to. if i eat something different i replace it with the meal thats most similar in macros, so little variation from main meals. most of it is pretty clean foods.

then i just eat wot i want for snacks more or less. unless im trying to lean up then il opt for healthier snacks

i planned my main meals so there cheap, easy and food i dont mind eating.

wen i tried being stricter it didnt work as i didnt enjoy the food as much and couldnt be assed cooking it so ended up gettin a take away or shuvin a pizza in.

the reason im not stricter is bcos food is a big part of every day life so i think i need to enjoy it aswell, if its a chore im less likely to stick with it.
