chaos said: Excuse my ignornace but why is that? Surely even equipped lifting you do some training raw? yeah we still do raw lifting, I cant answer for all equipped lifters as everyone has thier own training ideas but i never push raw numbers anymore i work up to a top set raw which is normally around 160-170 then shirt up I'll probably push my raw 3rm up a little as part of my bench cycle but my focus is on getting better and stronger in the shirt

unit94 said: Yeah but it would be fun to know! Theres a good chance Andy doesnt know, i think most of the big equipped benchers probably dont know their raw max (with the excepton of those that also compete raw)

AdamT said:I know it probably doesn't matter to him and he probably doesn't max raw. Though would be interested to know what he could bench unequipped He probably hasnt done a raw 1rm in years, theres no point he's an equipped lifter and his focus is on improving his equipped bench

Evis said: Well, I dont have all the details for his current training, but he rarely goes above 300 kilos raw. Its probably a case of him becoming very strong despite of his training weights and not because of them. That being said his strength seems to improve quickly when the training weights are systematically increased gradually. Maybe he rarely goes above 300kg raw because he's an equipped lifter?
