mic_od said:I bought the strengthshop 2029 powerlifting bar! I'm not happy with it! The reason I bought it in the first place was because I kept having to tighten the hex screws every session! 2 weeks after buying the bar,one of the rings that fit between the bar and the sleeve popped out! Spoke to strength shop they told me to put some metal glue on it and hammer it back in! And that would sort the problem! It didn't work and I now have to hammer it back in every deadlift session! How long until it snaps,I don't know. So I don't have tighten the hex screws anymore but I have to do a bit of hammering! To be fair I haven't got back in touch with strengthshop, so I don't know for sure that they wouldn't replace/ fix it properly but I do feel that there was a fault with it from New and they should have taken it back and not asked me to repair it! Also the rings are 10mm different from the centre point, which may seem like nit picking to some but a lot of my squats or lopsided slightly, a problem I've never sufferd before! Not saying that it is definitely down to the bar but it's in my head now and it bothers me. Sounds about right for strength shop stuff From my experiences, most of their stuff is cheap made and poor quality

rawlifter said:Ive always stayed clean but trained with a lot of assisted lifters and friends in the past and what I can say is gear makes a huge difference. Just to clarify using gear dosent mean you dont work hard and geared users may work as hard as the hardest working nattys, thats down to the individual not the drug. What is true however is it makes a huge difference and makes lifts a lot easier with less work of course than it would natural. Of course at the top end all lifters work hard regardless. I have no problem with using or not, i just wish it was open and everyone was honest about it. results are very person dependent though. i know some people who have added 100kg to their total, and some who have barely added 30kg

Post Edited: 02.07.2015 @ 19:11 PM by AdamC what size is the suit and what bw are you?with single ply tighter is better but if youre new to it a slightly bigger suit will be better as its a stiff learning curve especially if you haven't got any equipped lifters you train with or to spot you

sprange67 said: Yup, buts that's why you have tested and non-tested, or do you think even in the tested feds its a free for all at the top level? I wouldn't be surprised if a very very high % of those at the top levels are using

Evis said: While it still is my personal belief that the shw wr is done without peds, there should still be an advantage to having to pass tests vs being able to go full Dan Green like in this cup. I think this just comes mostly down to these guys being s**t with equipment. So you really think a 25 year old is totalling more then Malanichev, a exceptionally good lifter who is older, more expericenced and known for having used PED's, is completely clean? i'm not saying CYC is using peds, but i'd be very very surprised if he was genuinely drug free
