It's a good question, i wasn't very clear cause i assumed no one gave a s**t apart from me lol. I suffered a back injury on two separate occasions in 2011 and both of them can be explained by my ridiculous training in the gym at the time. I have come to the realisation that i am in fact human and cannot train deadlifts several times a week.
Looking back i see that deadlift pbs came when the previous week was either a week off or a forced deload week and injuries came shortly after heavy 18" deadlifts or when deadlift frequency had increased to more than once or twice a week.
So, my intention is to squat twice a week (best gains on squat have come with two-three times a week frequency) and deadlifting heavy once every fortnight alternating with speed deadlifts. I'm also going to listen to VanillaGorilla and if at any point he tells me i should be doing something or what i'm doing is silly i will take his advice, as it would appear he knows a f**k load about training!

Sounds sensible to me, good luck with it!

Munrow on my own Unhappy

Push Press from racks

Bar x 10
60 x 3
80 x 1 (not as easy as i expected)
85 x 10
85 x 10
85 x 10

Each one of the 10s was extremely difficult, not because of the weight itself but that high a number of reps leaves my legs feeling like jelly and my mid section shaking!

Incline Bench Press with a close grip (less severe incline than last week at OSG)

barx20
60x10
80x8
80x8
80x8
80x8

Not much to say here, not particularly difficult, just getting the work in

Bodyweight Pullups supersetted with standing strict press

Bodyweight x 8
60kg x 8

Bodyweight x 8
60kg x 8

Bodyweight x 8
60kg x 8

HARD!

Barbell Shrugs supersetted with Dumbbell Hammer Curls

160kg x 10
22.5kg x 10

160kg x 10
22.5kg x 10

160kg x 10
22.5kg x 10

Incline DB Tate press (this one's for max lol)

10kg x 15
10kg x 15
12.5kg x 12
15kg x 9
10kg x 16

Also did some cable upright rows, didn't feel them. I just don't like the movement. All in all an excellent session, really felt it. This volume work is really hard, but also awesome, cheers Dave lol

I think it is. My front squat is only 15kgs less than my high-bar squat.
Love the avatar of Doyle Kennady. Remember buying that edition of Powerlifting USA.

wow, you must be old! I'm just kidding, i guess it is quite a big difference. I suppose i use my back a bit on high bar squat but get away with it cause my upper backs pretty strong and if i try that on front just end up dumping the bar.

I know incredible. Stories of him trebling mid 800s as well....

I watched him in 1983 wsm last weekend and was unfortunately very disappointed. He took 80kg farmers walk implements a total of 5 metres Unhappy
