this is going to look like a fantastic session on paper, but it really was. i felt enthusaistic and if not strong, at least not weak; The weights were light and felt light, rather than being light and feeling like a ton.

actually not really, but the session just felt "right" (can't really put my finger on it any better)

I think i am always better when i do stuff i like/feel like rather than doing something because coach x says to do it.

I reckon its best just dropping it for a bit then mate. If you are just training it because you think you should it gets to be a chore and then you lose all enthousiasm for training. As little a said in mishimas log, just change exercises and get stronger on them for a bit and then come back to deads stronger, motivated and raring to go.

Couldn't agree more Happy

Lay off heavy pulls for a while. I was pulling over 200kg on a weekly basis towards the end of last year and it broke me down too much. Hardest deadlift session in the last 10 weeks was last Saturday and I still only did 180x6 which felt so light. I've just been doing high volume squatting twice a week mixing high bars and low bars (you can throw in fronties if you like) and building up my back and legs that way.

I'll cycle in heavy deadlifts soon and I now feel ready for them!

I am aiming to do some sprints tomorrow

so here were the sprints-i am certainly no boar for the minute!

bw squat (8 reps) followed by 100m sprint

I did 5 reps of this; sprint times were about 14.35 secs each (on average). Recovery was the time it took to walk back to the start, so about 1min 15 secs. I aim to work up to 10 reps of 10 jump squats/front squats with 100m sprints.

My pulse went up to about 160-165 during the sprints. sprints are hard!

tomorrow will be some front squats and deads

really good session today

deads
10/3
30/3
50/3
70/3
90/3
120/1
140/1
160/1
172/1 pb -no idea where this came from. the plan was just to do a couple at 140, but it felt fine, i felt up for it and so carried on. Happy

fronties
10/3
30/3
50/1
60/3 3 3 3 3 3 3 3 3 3

this might not be very heavy, but i flew through the sets (about 45 secs between) and if my balls were bigger and not held snuggly in place by lycra, they would have been slapping on the floor every repGrin

lower back and abs-a bit rubbish!

next session will hopefully be Thursday evening, and a new close grip pb.

cheers mate; Certainly some more there; I wn't say it flew up but it was far from grindy, if you know what i mean. all being well, I'l try something like 175 next week.
The only problem is space on the bar-I had 4 2kg plates tied in the middle of the bar on the pbGrin
