Bit of mammoth one tonight....first time full snatching from floor in a looooooong time.... a bit of a glitch at 70...but glad i took the time to figure it out and correct, 85 prob felt the best out of the lot...GO FIGURE?!

Cleans were descent...switched off for 132...already satisfied with 127 pb which was easy to stand up with. Fronts were solid..planning for 165 beltless if i felt good....but legs spent a bit from work beforehand (conditioning is needed). After that decided to work on catch position for my jerks...took some patience but was nailing 100kg no problem by the end. Out of the gym for the next week or so...lookin forward to some heavy pulling and some snatch/c+j workouts on my return.

Lol! good to see your back training again, well done on the front squats too 150x5 is good work, would like to try them myself but have been lazy, feel my upper back caves in when it gets heavy, did you have a carry over to your back squat?

When you squat raw do you sit back with your hips or do you sit down allowing the knees to track forward?I'm in turmoil whether to change the style of my back squat as high neck feels more comfy, however obviously my low bar is stronger but feels a lot more stressful on my back, I would like to squat olympic style and make it stronger and chuck low bars If I'm honest!

Unfortunately i never really got a chance to go back into back squatting prior to dropping back my training, the biggest carryover i think for me has been to my deadlift I pulled 240kg very comfy today having not pulled for perhaps 6-8 weeks, i would attribute this to achieving a higher (dormant) base of leg strength. Not sure if I will ever go away from low bar back squats (i sit back) myself I would rather focus on increasing my GPP/SPP than going Sumo DL or changing my bar position on back squats. Personally having worked around professional athletes for some time now I have rarely in comparison seen a lifter (of even elite powerlifters....and i have trained with/around a few) whom posses the knowledge/toughness/patience and probably smarts to incorporate enough 'prep' into or prior to their main competition cycles to minmize thr impact of low bar squatting on a conventional deadlift style.


But its about whats relevant to the individual...in this case mate if things are headed the right direction with high neck squats and you dont feel there is a neccessary level of sacrifice to work up other areas (if it is an issue) then go with the flow.


I do think you will pull 300 sooner if you keep hitting your quads with high neck/fronties, everyone has gone a bit posterior chain crazy on here (SL/13/18inch etc...) following what others are doing rather than what may well be best for them and best for their performance mid-long term.
