Feel free to Jonny. Anyone else needs to send me a cheque for £19.99 and they'll have the rights to perform this lift.

Deadlift- 220x2x5
Pin pulls (knee height)- 240x3, 260x3, 280x3
Leg curls- 4x5
Straight legged roman sit ups- 10x3

Good session and last hard deadlift session before nxt comp. 220 didn't move quite as fast as I'd liked and felt a little sluggish to begin with. Peaked around the 3rd and 4th double. Was planning to do reverse band pulls, but the half cage/mini-band set up didn't give me enough tension of the deck, so binned that and worked up to a tough tripple on pin pulls instead. Jobs a good un!

10-30 reps of following;

Dumbbell press
One arm dumbbell shoulder press
Front plate raise
Bent over raises
Lat pulldowns
Tripe ext/tate press combo

Gripper work- strap holds with T, 1 and HG250

Just got the blood moving today and left it at that. With my gip comp in dec I am now doing 3 grip sessions a week after my normal work, based on 3 of the lifts at the comp; gripper strap holds, v-bar and 2 hand pinch grip.

hey as a reformed grip geek, this comp sounds interesting!

What gripper is used in the straphold?

V-bar is brutal stuff man, how much have you done with it so far?

They are using either IM1, 2, or 3 as it stands with just 1.25kg on the strap holds for time. On a good day shoudl be able to do this with a 2. I have recenlty done 90kg (bw) on the v-bar. Only had a few sessions on it and will be looking for 100 at the comp.

I've bein doing a bit fo grip work for a while now mostly grippers and a bit of RT. Fancy gettinga bit more serious and doing greater variety of lifts now.

good plan on going with coc 2 for holds if the weight is so low! Though i cant see myself nailing more than few seconds with that anyway Tongue

Good V bar lift!

Too bad there is no wrist strength event in that comp, or is it common to leave that area out alltogether?

...i really should start doing some grip strength stuff again...

The BHSA (British Hnad Strength Association) has a varitey of lifts including table top writs curls.

This the 1st comp that the guy running it has set up, so the events are meant to by quite inclusive and almost a novice like comp. Hence strap holds for time, instead of max gripper closes. Its in Swindon early dec.

Are gee Titch, I lub u 2!

Marc, I find rack pulls okay but I don't rate them that highly for myself. My lockout is never really a problem so I do em every no and then. I am trying to experiment with reverse band pulls as a way to overload the lockout whilst doing a full range lift.

19/10/07

Squat- 150x1x2 177.5x1x2, 200x1x2
High box squat (wide stance + knee wraps)- 200x1, 210x1, 220x1
Oly squats- 140x3, 160x3, 182.5x3 (pb!)
V-bar- 80x1, 91.5x1 (new pb)

Good session. The squats were actually done in the biomech lab with a tendo unit attached to bar, whilst standing on a a force platform and being videoed. I did 2 singles at 20-90%. Despite the fact I had to unrack forwards and then arch round to get in position, I was squatin well. But all that walking did take a toll on me and the box squatin wasn't feelin it and stopped at 220. Over a year ago I did that without wraps. Oly squats were better despite the fact that my right knee felt and sounded as if a schrunched up platsic bag in it. However 400lbsx3 was a new pb for a full range squat. Nice!
