Extremely short session today, I just wanted to test if my back could handle doing overhead pressing movements so never did much volume and didn't go heavy. Things went a little like this ...

Military Press
1 x 10 30 kgs
1 x 5 50 kgs
1 x 1 80 kgs

Then lot's of stretching for my back.

Bench Press Training today, I'm keeping things light to help build my back back up as it were. Things went a little like this ...

Bench Press
1 x 10 50 kgs
1 x 5 70 kgs
1 x 5 90 kgs
1 x 5 105 kgs
1 x 8 120 kgs

5 x 10 100 kgs

Dips
5 x 15 BW

Then stretching for my back.

Nice and easy session, no pain in my back Benching again so this gives me alot of confidence, still not able to arch as high though. The 8 reps at 120 kgs is far from a pb, but under the circumstances I'm happy with this. Assistance stuff was all nice and light again, but I really enjoyed it.

Hit up some Deadlift training today, the second time trying this since I injured my back. Things went a little like this ...

Deadlifts 1 x 10 70 kgs, 1 x 3 120 kgs, 1 x 5 140 kgs, 1 x 5 162.5 kgs, 1 x 5 185 kgs
Chin Ups 5 x 12 BW
Hyper Extensions 5 x 20 BW
Leg Raises 5 x 20 BW

Then lot's of stretching for my back.

I was extremley apprehensive about this session today because of my back, but things seemed to go well. I'm definately not as strong as a result of the injury, but to my surprise the deadlifts were fine and all pretty easy. I decided to just leave the top set at 5 reps and not push things too much at the moment, assistance stuff was all nice and light bodyweight excercises again, which seems to be working well for healing up my back.

Not proudly - LA Fitness in Milngavie and trained a couple of times with BigKen and robocop in Dunbarton.

I'd love to use the Strathclyde gym but not being a student I don't have a chance!
