  • Machine rows x 4

machine (chest supported) rows hurt my rib in a way that does not feel great so will do the old dumbell rows in future.

that's mental sped up like that , the music was perfect , the only thing that would have improved it would have been an epic wipe out into the canal!

Rowing at home?

Why does the Mersey run through Liverpool?

So it doesn't get mugged.

The river mersey kinda winds its way thru warrington and towards south manchester and finishes around stockport

as for the rowing , I feel i have found a training plan that i can follow and enjoy .... gym and rowing .... on alternate days (and i hope to be ski erging on gym days)

ALSO - i got a small noisey flying biddy stuck deep in my ear (the noise of its buzzing was horrendous and i could feel it wriggling) the wife couldnt find the tweezers and i was getting to the point of jamming a knife in my ear ..panic station was very close ... anyhoo , it eventually stopped buzzing and i went for a shower and i felt like i had gone 5 rounds with fat Ed

Gym

  • Squats x 4 sets
  • Military press x 4
  • Deadlift x 2
  • bench press x 4
  • Lat pull downs x 4
  • single dubnell shoulder press x 4
  • hyperextentons
  • 1000m row

nice session , found out that the ski erg pulls my spazzy damaged rib/intercostal .....so that is out for now .....

some gymbro came up to the squat rack while i was doing squats and took the 5kg plate off the side, right next to me ....now, i wasnt using it at that exact time but usually a polite 'are you using this?' would be the norm ....this dude just took it ..... nothing major ...anyhoo ...he left all his weights on a barbell that he was shrugging AND all the weights on a hex bar on the floor, which he was also shrugging , supersetting with the other shrugz .... just walked off to the EZ bar curlz

Smith Machine squats=good way to get crushed to death!

I am guilty of doing them In Spainland when no other option available.

The weights i use are not capable of crushing a guniea pig !! the actual machine is very moidern - the hooks are lightly spring loaded so the poing into place plus the bar is on some sort of weighted tether and i you let go of it , it floats down to the ground !

  • 6 x 500 1r

I ask myself : do i want to be A MACHINE when its the big climb of the final race of the MTB series ?

...and the answer is YES ... so i am doing intervals on the rower and weights at the gym. (3 of each a week) with a nice bike ride on the spare day.

obvs, its a lame session by my previous standards, but it was ok for now
