Nice ride out on the racer this morning

  • distance - 32.35km
  • time - 1:07:37
  • Avg Speed - 28.7km/h

A particular section 'hutton loop' is 24km and i put some effort in on that and got my 4th fastest time, so thats about where my fitness is at the moment ....its ok , but not up there

How many times have you done the loop?

(to give it context)

that particular section is a long one so its not often I take the exact route however .... i have checked a shorter section from the area ..... i have been round that way 32 times and this particular ride would be just inside the top 10, It is fairly tight at the top though , so im pretty happy.

well , I am training daily but have postponed the running until i am back at my 'race weight' (under 75kg) i couldnt work out if i had a pulled an ass muscle or was getting sciatica (which i have never had befor) from the hefty plodding i was doing .... i am now doing alternate cycling with rowing.

anyhoo , i was starting to think i had long covid or somthing but i am feeling better this week

JM , i have entered yet another midweek madness MTB race .... it is next month and i am not ready but thought i would just turn up and get rinsed by some old women n stuff.

apparently there are usually 5 rounds over the summer so any that you fancy i will be going to , even though i get up at 5am (untill i fall off and break something)

Hefty plodders unite!

I'm happy for you Brits that amateur sports are getting back on track. We seem to be a ways off, over here.

yea, its far too long for me to go without doing some mass participation type events , luckily i had the virtual rowing last year which was excellent.

I have been feeling pretty grim recently, so much so that i have only managed 4 x 500 on the rower

on the positive side, my diet has been great and i have been listening to some super audiobooks while driving the wagon ...i am now up to a total of 480 hours total listening

I’m very interested in the MTB races. I’ll check the dates and see what I’ve got on with work (we have governor meetings on Wednesdays) and kids’ cricket. Should be OK to do at least one I would hope though.

I have been avoiding updates as I dont like to admit any weakness

there is somthing wrong with my back and i cant row and running has stopped .... anyhoo , i have been doing mainly mountain biking as that doesnt aggrivate it ..... i cant seem to get a decent weights session going at home so i have decided to join my local gym , I need to strengthen the whole lower back area to support my FAT ED LEVEL GLASS BACK OF SORTS.

its amazing how things can change with just one fall off a bike at 5am !!

imagine being 70+ and having a fall ! its no wonder people never fully recover and end up dead.

You speak the truth my friend, The last cold I had made me realise why Covid/Flu etc is so hard on the elderly.

Don't get sucked into any ego machismo in the gym......did you know C2 sell a BIKEERG

Hope you get your back sorted, and in the meantime, go build a set of sweet megacalves and sexyquads on the bike!
