Lived there for a while and one problem is Salford has, is it doesn’t really have a ‘city centre’ of any note.. the precinct is about as good as it gets (or “Salford shopping city” as it’s been renamed)

This is the bit that I never realized. If Manchester is a correct answer to the same question that always scores highly. I was always slightly confused that folk who know Manchester do not know Salford.

I think you'd find the same thing for Americans with Dallas and Fort Worth, or Minneapolis and St Paul, and for that matter I bet you get a bit of it with Leeds and Bradford. Twin cities are a pain in the arse. I expect they would have formally merged, like Brooklyn and New York, except that Greater Manchester means we've effectively all merged into one big metro area.

Hyper obese Pete Member 70, 17896 posts SQ 322.5, BP 205, DL 300827.5 kgs @ 133kgs Eq | Another Saturday has rolled around. The good news is I believe the chip shop re-opened during the week so that is today's dinner sorted. I only go out once a week, on my shopping trip, the rest of the time I am in, either working or not, and yet the weeks seem to fly by. Seems odd to me

Someone I spoke to the other day from Englandshire didn't know about onion vinegar. I had to educate him on what he's missing out on!

Place one end against the fingers and then with the other hand force the other end inwards so that the ball of the thumb can situate better. That makes quite a difference It’s a pleasure. Chalk helps massively too (on your hand, not on your COC). You’ve just inspired me to get my COC out and have a little play. I did 3 sets of 15 (with each hand) whilst watching the football with COC number 1. My Mrs gave me a few strange looks but I just got on with it. I’ll see if I can get some consistent COC work going.

still a devious weightlifting bastard Member 43, 14374 posts | According to the Viz apparently relieving ring sting with a well executed bubbly fart is known as a Dutch Cornet. A quick Google didn't confirm this, but I hope it's true.

I tend to dabble while watching TV of an evening. Workdays by the kettle, are now taken by kettlebell squats, it seemed a tad apposite

I am interested in this as I too exeperience imbalances between left and right (as I'm sure most humans do). Circa 2006 I tried to redress an imbalance between the girth of my left leg (the thinner) and my right (thickness personified) by performing additional one leg squats (and maybe other exercises, if memory serves) on the left, but all I did was irritate my left knee with injurious excesses of activity. Ultimately I decided to continue on my original course and let the chips fall where they may. For the record, the above and aforementioned imbalance persists to this day, but I have made my peace with it. It would definitely be interesting to hear others' philosopies on such matters.

I've been doing a bit extra work on my left side for decades (grip, shoulders, whatever), but the imbalances have always persisted! I actually think they are near impossible to rectify.
