Monday 2nd July

DL: 90 x 6, 140 x 5, 165 x 5,3,5. 4-5mins rest between.
WG chins: BW x 8,8,8. 2mins rest between.
BB rows: 60 x 8,8. 2mins rest between supersetted with below
BB curls: 36 x 8,8.

Well a little disappointed not to get that second set of 165 x 5, but I just didn't have anything left in the tank - gave myself an extra minute and a good talking to for the last set though. It wasn't strength per se cos the first rep on each set came up easy. I am putting it down to the 10km race yesterday taking more out of me than I realised and leaving it at that. No need to worry, still on target for my 200k come the end of the month. Next week it's 170 x 5,5,5.

running a 10 k the day before is bound to take its toll mate ,i would'nt worry about it!

Yes, that's what I figured, but you know how it is... the doubt creeps in nonetheless!

I just found out my time for the 10k, it was 54:19 which put me in 218th place in a race of 254. Well it was OK for me anyways. Actually that's probably even a PB, and certainly beats my effort last year.

Wednesday 4th July

Bench: 51 x 6, 61 x 5, 87 x 5,5,5,5,5. 4-5mins rest between.
DB standing shoulder press: 22 x 8,8,8. 3mins rest between.

Another week another kilo. Can't complain about that. Marked in 88 x 5 x 5 for next week. Hopefully I'll manage it. I've been adding 1kg each week for a while now without failing so I guess all the eating and sleeping (and creatine!) must be working.

I might just try that if I'm feeling strong next week. However, at the moment I do 2 bench sessions per week, to give me an opportunity to put some heavier weight on too. This weekend I'm looking at 93 x 3,3,3,3,3. Again though, owing to your impatience Wink I might up that to 95 and be damned. We'll see.

Friday 6th July

Squats: 71 x 6, 91 x 5, 125 x 5,5. 4-5mins rest between.

Aborted workout today because over the last few nights, now the weather's back, we've been having boozy late nights. This morning I got up with something resembling a f**king cold! Even though the squatting was fine I was feeling dizzy and the end of the final set I did I misracked the bar and it almost fell down on one side. Enough was enough, being dizzy and squatting is a BAD idea. Bed early for me tonight Roll-Eyes

In other news, I've put on another kilo of 'pure rippling muscle' heh. Better update my weight.

First off thanks to Hayden and Tom for giving me a kick up the arse. I was set to do 93kgs today but after what they said I went for 95s and voila I did them! Mid-week I'll be going for 90 x 5 x 5! No one can stop me... I AM A TIGER... or something... heh.

Cheers Tom. I need to get a training session in with some experienced lifters one day. Perhaps I will make it over at some point next year.

I managed the deads but they were tough. Even though next week I am doing 5kgs more I'll be happier because they are only triples. 5 reps at this kind of weight for me is pretty exhausting. All good stuff though cos I'm still on course for my 200kg attempt at the end of the month.

Nice deads man. How are you finding doing heavy deads every week? I cant seem to handle it.

agree with vince great deads neil vgood work, i also find heavy deads very taxing going to do heavy deads one week speed deads the next see how it goes same with squat,squat and deads on same day and ONCE A WEEK ONLYHappy
