Gordy said:Obviously editing will have played a part in this, but Shaw's expression through a lot of the final last year was one of a man who was going to do everything in his power to not be in that position again. Can't see him finishing below second and can't see Z finishing below second because he's Z, probably favour Shaw to win it in my less than expert opinion.

Events were s**t last year, events are good this year.

last year loading was a joke - too light and just a comp to see who can run the best on sand, overhead was way too light..the top 4 finished the event and had a look on their face of ''is that it''. Keg toss was in the final, stones were too light where Thor just one motioned them all and platforms knocked over by other competitors. Squats are always contentious at WSM due to depth, suits and also way too many reps won it.

I am looking forward to this final, wasn't really bothered last year.

Really hope ed pulls it outta the bag and wins log and deadlift! Would be awesome to see him top 3.

Can't decide between Z and shaw who'll win! Both mahoosvie and mobile, think log may let shaw down slightly, so i'll go

Z
Shaw
Hall
Thor
Burke
Shivlyakov
Felix
Pritchett
Savatinov
Caron

I'm with Thor all the way if he has even a moderately good deadlift in the final.

I love Eddie. Love the guy and didn't really want to think it but the more I see him, the more I don't think he'll win WSM if ever at all but may well win the Arnold's more than once. Mobility and speed will make way for his raw power further in his development. I see him killing records in lifts, but where speed is key - no.

Talking about strongmen who use to do other sports, didnt ed use to swim at a decent standard? Surely if he did he has the capacity to be mobile. It's just something he needs to work on, and now his deadlift, log and squat is up there with the best he'll be able to dedicate more time to training for speed and mobility over the next year or 2?
I'm sure he's got it in him to win wsm in the near future

I'd love another press event. Tourism missing a trick not having some version of viking press with a basket full of local foodstuff/beer etc.

I actually think Ed moves well, he just isn't quick with the yoke.

Serious predictions.

Hall almost strict pressed a 220 log (locked it but the floor was squishy) and has the best deadlift ever so with those being 2 of the events I think it's a fair prediction!

Exactly.

Thor could win 3 and only come third.

However...this is WSM, anything can happen.

We all have our favs...Of course I want a Brit to win. However, I will settle for a Viking.

On the main, I just hope there are no further serious injuries.

Furthermore, does anyone know how Mr Bixxy's injury is and his anticipated healing time???...a excellent mover, deadlifter, squatter and presser, we are all saddened at my gym to hear about his injury(s).
