Sunday Lunch at The Clarendon Arms in Cambridge. Best pub roast I've ever had and a f**king steal at £11.
As it was my birthday, I had 5 pints, a bottle of malbec and about 10 Jim Beam and cokes.

You must be all effing gourmet chefsTongue

As an aside Nick, during the dark (fat) time of 8000+ kcals a day I certainly became more adept as a chef, although I was handy in the kitchen already.

I think when you constantly have to make food as interesting and varied as possible it certainly helps you to become more inventive and skilled in the kitchen.

On that note, my tea later is chorizo roasted tuna steaks, with a baked baby plum tomato, black pepper and red onion sauce, with basmati rice and curly kale. La de dah Grin

Squash? What are you, 5?

I think there are some people here that know their way around the kitchen - Rick, Drew and VG especially.

For me, cooking is a bit of a hobby, I wouldn't say I'm any good at it, but it's fun to try to be.

Tonight I had stew I made yesterday, 6 ox cheeks with 6 onions, 4 carrots, a bunch of celery, a bunch of both chives and parsley with less thyme, ale, mustard and hawkeshead relish so simple (srs) but cooked for 6 hours if not more, the cheeks were basically gravy

and crushed potato's and cabbage on the side

As for cooking. I enjoy it. I used to bake with my nan mum or auntie on a Sunday after lunch when a kid, now I can just cook

Sounds great.
The people whose food I look forward to reading about were always VG, yourself Cuddles, and Drew and that group there - was it Marc you used to have incredible multi-roast lunches with?

I'm about to make egg and chips.

Drew, you've just reminded me, it's now October, and that means it's slow cooker season!

I even bought a new one yesterday to mark the occasion.

Pork joints half price in tesco too.

Rick as it happens on Saturday, there was no Marc but martinb and I with 3 other friends had slow roast brisket
Roast shoulder of lamb
Goose fat potatoes
More goose fat potatoes but with rosemary and garlic
Roast squash
Roast carrots in star anise and honey
Broccoli and green beans

Then syrup pudding and a choc splodge thing

A few bottles of wine and beers. Was a good night

I also look out for rick, cuddles and vg as well.

I also toyed with the idea of starting a food blog of just the interesting things I eat throughout my day to day life
