The powerlifting room is basic but effective. Very good value for money at £58/year.

1 platform
1 power cage
1 squat rack
1 bench
4 bars
1 trap bar
Dumbbells
Metal and bumper plates

Pulse is the cardio room and worth the membership even if you don't do any cardio Wink

Boar said:Doc Haz ..... i love my foam roller but cant get a good 'roll' of my hammies ...do you just sit on it and lean left or right and roll it ? might be my big ass dragging on the floor ...

The difficulty with hammies and calves is getting enough of your bodyweight into the 'roll'.

For hammies, I do each one individually and cross one leg over the other for added weight. I also use a PVC tube from Wickes instead of foam for added HARDNESS!

thanks for the encouragement chaps.

Doc i think the older you get the more important stretching and recovery is,I've never really got to grips with the foam roller I'll have to give one a try.
I find empty bar gm's ,snatches and cleans are great for shifting the lactic acid.
I think most of us would benefit by devoting a bit more time to stretching and flexibility.

cheers Matt

quick session tonight

close grip bench press 60kx3 70kx3 80kx3 90kx3
thick bar holds 100k 3 sets around 30 secs each time
hanging off thick bar 3 goes never managed more than 20 secs

curcuit dumbell snatch 10k 10 reps each arm, 20 press ups, 10 sit ups tricep stretch 20k disk 15 reps. 4 runs of curcuit, running recovery between sets.

hanging off a scaff bar is f**king tough.
