Back there tomorrow too. Despite being knackered I nipped over to the Edge Gym in Leeds (where I will now be working out of) to meet up with Sob for a quick session. Chinups BW x 5 x 3 Front Squat 70 x 5 70 x 3 100 x 3 120 x 1 140 x 1 152.5 x 1 - Belted 160 x 1 - Belted 120 x 5 The gym record was 150 on the new boards so I just pushed it up by 10kg, not massive I know but I've never really trained fronties!! | ||

Over the 2 days I learnt loads especially being a complete novice to Oly lifting. I full snatched 40kg which was nice, but I couldn't help power snatching most as it all felt light. I now don't know whether to get coaching myself or just try and 'self coach' using vids... I have an assessment in 4 weeks so need to improve my technique and practice coaching. Yesterday afternoon I spent a while working on cleans and then clean and jerk, with my brother too who has never done any Oly lifts. I worked upto 60kg, I have a vid of me doing the full lift on 45kg which is on my bench vid to follow. | ||

I have 10 training weeks left before my next comp (may be doing another now 4 weeks before that in October but will be treating it as 'training'). So as I'm nearly peaked I'm taking heavy singles on Bench and Squat this week before starting a 9 week build up, based on what I've been doing but I'll work to set reps rather than auto-regulating. Bench 20 x 10 20 x 5 60 x 5 80 x 5 100 x 3 120 x 1 130 x 1 140 x 1 147.5 Fail Well happy I got 140, I've not benched that in well over a year now! Went for an all time PB and it was close. 2 Board Bench 130 x 3 140 x 3 Incline DB Flys My left shoulder (unstable one) has been giving me grief recently again and is sore, these felt awful so left them. I did a large number of sets of 5s on 30kg and then 3s on 40kg. Most were power snatches with some full snatches in there! OH Squat 40 x 5 x 3 | ||

Massive lumps all over my arms, legs, face and scalp so suffice to say I wasn't feeling great but still needed to train!
