Bench worked up to 170 x 1 x 4 really chuffed with this, nearly had 5

Squats, worked up to 180 x 1 x 8 had prob 10 in the tank but gotta scaff a 300ft chicken shed ttomoz so need use of mu legs :-)

88kg bw

Did some narrow stance squats, felt these burn on my quads alot more than my regular squat, felt abit like it does when i front squat. Worked up to 140 x 5 x 4 :-)

Close grib speed bench, did 100k x 3 x 6 pausing at bottom and pressin out as fast as poss

Grip, held a bar with 180k for 10secs x 6 sets, felt a nice burn on the forearms, my grip sucks balls

Did some other shoulder crap but was mostly killin time so wasnt worth posting

cheers mate! wouldnt say im strong yet when you look at the likes of shane and james ward and the u90kg scene! but one day maybe! im completely focused on strongman now for the first time so ill see what happens! roll on 2013

Yesterday, first day back after christmas,

Did abit of lightish bench, worked up to 160 x 1 x 8

Squats
Worked up to 190 x 1
160 x 5
160 x 5
100 x 8
100 x 8

Felt good and abit sore today :-)

deadlifts

worked up to 220 with no straps then did 240 x 1 x 4

then took straps off
180 x 2 x 2
190 x 2 x 2
200 x 2 x 2

working on grip alot more now Happy

worked up to 177.5kg - 1 PB Grin!
140 x 5 x 2 close grip

lovely way to start the new year! havent even had any protein shakes for a week neither Grin

squats worked up to 180 x 2 x 4
felt pretty easy too Happy

grip - worked up to 140 held for 20 secs

chuffed and cant wait for tomoz!

oh and i have a question, alot of people dont train bench for strongman, so would you recomend swapping my bench day to something more strongman specific? once i hit my lifetime goal of 180 that is, also it would lower my bodyweight by removing muscle from my chest which would help me compete at u90kg? what are your thoughts? i do love bench tho Happy

Strong as f**k bench mate

I believe opinion on bench is varied. At u90, Shane does it and is very good (185 close grip) and is good overhead. Buy James ward has only just started training bench again and is the best overhead in the world at 90kg.

Thats what im pondering, i think ill continue to train it until it becomes an issue with bodyweight or something

I wouldnt have thought having sexy pecs would pose a weight issue staying u90kg...

Just make sure it don't inhibit your shoulder flexibility which is much more important when it comes to putting an axle and log overhead and racking a giant db
