Easy bulls**t session. Happy to get the PB on the power cleans, they were f**king ugly though and the 87.5 and 90kg ones were caught in my hands instead of the rack position. I'll work on it, just need to get under it and rotate my elbows faster.

You should probably be able to squat more than 160 with a 140 x 5 squat.

When're you retesting your 1RMs?

Probably in March? At the end of my current hospital attachment. After that, I go to a different hospital without a gym and training partners so I might as well. Hopefully can get 170-180kg, maybe more in wraps. I think I've got another 6 weeks.

I almost lost my pre-workout meal after/during squats. I had too much to eat, too close to training.

2 chicken burgers
1 Pecan plait
1 Cinnamon Danish swirl
1 pint of milk
1 protein shake

All about 30-40 minutes pre-workout. Tongue

Trained with a friend that I haven't trained with in ages. He brought some ATP knee wraps and we decided to mess around and have some fun. I've never used wraps before and messed around with 110kg. Then tried to go for a 1RM. I know I wasn't 100% today, because even 165kg in wraps was pretty difficult, and that's only 5kg over my best raw squat. Anyway, was just experimenting with making my legs blue. Good times. He got 190kg which was good.

We also went for an impromptu deadlift competition. I went for 192.5kg which is a 2.5kg PB, and it was f**king easy and fast. I said afterwards, "I'm getting 200kg." Well, I jinxed myself because I couldn't even get it to my knees which is really odd considering 192.5kg was so easy. My friend got 200kg pulling sumo with straps. I didn't bother with straps because grip wasn't even close to being an issue, and I don't really want to use them off the floor.

Anyway, still got two PBs, even though the squat one isn't strictly like for like.

Squats were hard, not because it felt very heavy, but because I was still very sore from Wednesday. My hips were in a lot of pain and I forgot to take ibuprofen on time.

These session are bound to happen from time to time. This is only the 2nd time I've had to set a weight down on the pins in over a year.

Dunno what the f**k happened to OHP, power was just gone. This was an easy weight on Friday, but today it was very heavy.

It's early days yet, so I may just need to keep calm and repeat the weight. But if it keeps happening and it turns to a real stall, I may just try to progress doing sets of 3 and see how far I get. It worked well for deadlifts for me so far.

Just need to get better sleep and more food I think. Both have been lacking.
