Yes, enter it. If you do get a placing then take the prize. It is rightly deserved or not.
Look forward to it mate, I am sure it will run smoothly and be awesome. Together in united passion.

I certainly wouldn't hold it against you Funky - just don't drop anything on your foot this time. Last 2 strength comps I've been to someone has broken a foot actually. The other one was a strongman comp with Steven and a guy dropped a (100KG I think) iron block on his foot.

Yeah, that was Luke Davies. He dropped the block on his foot during the carry medley. Fortunately for him it was the last event so despite that injury he won his group.

Might just hit some maxes for fun, but not taking a medal. Too fat and weak now to do anything decent. Now if we could squat with wraps, I might be able to muster something half decent, but I will be up against people who deadlift just as much as me, but weigh 25kg less.

Thanks, although the pressing was a little reserved will build it up gradually. 40kg heaviest dumbbells in gym which is meagre.

Not doing a proper build up, will gain bodyweight like you Happy and want to strengthen my torso mainly for strongman but will help for the comp as well. At comp aiming for PB's and don't care about winning it with relative strength.

When you are on proper form I know you to be a troublesome competitor Happy
I really believe do your best and if you place then you deserve a position, regardless if you organised the comp or not. As you wish. See you soon bloody Turk, hehe Happy

Are the axle presses harder that with a regular bar? Good work on the PBs by the way.

Technically more difficult.

Most challenging point is getting it to the shoulders to be in a position to press.
I Clean it with a DOHG, Once set on shoulders then rotate thumbs to thumbless grip for easier press.

When the weight gets too heavy to power clean with a DOHG I will have to switch to a continental clean which I am not looking forward to learn!

Weight is manageable so far, increasing it slowly for long-term consistent progress. The axle bar weighs about 22kg but I only count it as 20kg.
