Had physio on my shoulder, felt ok so just went for it today.

A)log clean (1st rep) and push press
160x4
180x1 - mossed 2nd, rubbish re-rack.
180x1 - misses 2nd backwards overhead.

Comments: Felt strong but not stabilisation in he shoulder. Cut it there. Dropped the log on my training partner too, probably broken his foot, not a good day at all. Z

Took a trip yesterday to rebel strength to train on the comp kit.

A)2 man log press
hit a lot of reps on just the empty log which was 150 then throw on 10 kilo plates all the was upto comp weight which was 300 and we hit 2 singles on that comfortably.

B)2 man axle deadlift
just worked on timings and worked up in triples to 600kg. comp weight is 700 but I think we can nail a few on that.

Motivation isn’t going great at the moment, which is abit s**t considering the level of comp on Sunday BUT I’m going to go and enjoy myself and learn as much as I can from Licis, JF Caron, Rob Kearny and the like. And then let the cards fall where they may and see what happens results-wise.

I’ve had some physio and been in for purely mobility sessions over the last week or so, so body feels good. Now just have to make sure food intake is up!

Worlds strongest teams: (Sunday)

was such a great experience competing with the best, got to hang around and learn off most of them, although some didn’t really want a conversation. Venue was awesome, crowd was massive and I really enjoyed that aspect of it too.

1)log medley:
Warm ups was feeling great, we only had a 100 log and 140 log so I hit acouple singles on 140 which were flying but then I managed to strain my pec alittle. very frustrating! Went out Andrew hit the first 2, then we hit the double log, very easy then I did the 180. clean felt amazing, press was decent too but felt my pec all the way through, decided not to attempt the 200. I was pissed off because no one managed the 200, Kearny came close but missed. That would of been the perfect time to get 200. BUT not to be aye!

2)630kg 2 man deadlift on axle
our timing was great, we hit 5 straight off the bat, took a knee then got another 2. I felt I had another few in me too.

3)150 gas bottle farmers
I went first, I made a massive mistake, I tried to set off really quick because I knew my grip would only hold for abit but i ended up smashing the bottles into my legs and out my hands. 3M for me, Andrew smashes it and got 15m-ish with a turn.

4)tyre flip and sandbag carry
Andrew hit the tyre, was sick, keeping up with the best awesome to see then I grabbed the sandbag and had a race to the finish with Krystof Radz, we won (on stopwatch) but they told us it was too close to call so have us same time (bulls**t)

5)160 stone over bar for rest
I couldn’t get it, had a half hearted attempt but my pec was sore by this point and my stones are poor anyway especially with the stupid diameter of these stones, need to really concentrate on my stones for next year.

overall: 6th from 8 teams but we more than held our own. before we started we said we are going to enjoy it and not worry too much about results as long as we don’t look out of place and I think we did exactly that.

1st: JF Caron and Radz
2nd: Kearny and Heinla
3rd: Belsak and Shiv
4th: Lalas Bros


Yesterday:

A)front squats (arms crossed)
105 4x5

(Inbetween each set did rotator cuff work and got gun in the pecs too)

B)bench press
bar 5x25 - nice and slow

(Inbetween each set did band pull apart and facepulls)

C)barbell hip thrusts
60 3x10

D)flat back extensions
3x10

E)DOH hangs (rolling bar)
BW 4x20 secs


Comments: good to get moving. Feel abit relieved now comp season is over. Weird. enjoyed today though.

Today:
1 hour mobility class (local CrossFit)
(last 20mins concentrated on front rack mobility)

Comments. Feel great, happy.

Does Rebel Strength do Strongman sessions?

They mooted doing it a while back?

Really well done on the events: they looked super heavy - especially the rigid logs.
