Missed training last week due to being crazy busy at work! Got a chance to train Tue & today so here goes!

Tue overhead work & more split jerks, felt tech getting better do went for an 80kg. Went up easy but lost it at the top as I stepped backwards & was very aware of a bench behind me so had to give up the fight. NO LIFT lol. No doubt it would of been controlled if the space was available but it wasn't so onwards to next week.

Tonite was supposed to be deadlift 175x6, missing last week appears to have taken it's toll so the wheels came off a bit! 175x3 was the end result & form gash with the 3rd rep (too much pulling with the back).

May have a good nights sleep & try again tomorrow @ Industrial strength. It's a decision Confused

Events @ IS Kirkcaldy

Planned on trying the 175x6 again but was talked into event training! Glad I did tho.

1st up, Medley. 100kg farmers 10m, Flip of a 320kg tyre & load 100kg & 110kg kegs.
Not timed but happy enough. Blowing like crazy & tech a bit gash on the kegs but been a while.

2nd, Arm over arm 300kg sled 20m, again blowing like crazy but grip never an issue only cardio a problem. Again happy with the effort.

3rd stones. Been about 18mth since I did stones back in unit20! Started with a 90kg one comfy since 100kg is my Pb happy. Then JNR (Ian Plews, scotlands silver dollar record holder) asked if I had done a 90kg before, not happy lol.

It then went 100kg (equal Pb), 110kg Pb, 120kg Pb, No 130kg stone & the next was 160kg, never happening.

No idea where this came from but one happy boy tonite & decided im better at events than in the gym lol

This weeks training SO FAR

Late at work all week so a couple of super quick sessions!

Tue
Warmed up with rear delts on machine
Then back to my attempt to get some sort of split jerk going. Went strict press upp to only 40kg then 60kg was start of jerk, 70kg, 80kg (equal O/H Pb) 85kg Pb, then attempted 90kg twice but just a little bit too far on the day.

Been a long time coming for an O/H Pb but 85kg nothing to shout about lol but in the end kind of happy with a bit of progress.

Then some dips to finish

Decided on dead lift but should of left it, straight from work to gym & knackered, it showed! Went to 160kg & a 180kg fail (pathetic) left it there for another day.
Then front squat, again not great but went to 120kg & 130kg fail.

Went home in the huff lol

Will train tomorrow if I get a decent finish & it better improve Tongue
Gonna train events this weekend too so sore next week

Today events training & IS
With Gary, Lewis (guy doing Dumfries training events for the 1st time & should do well) & a special guest appearance from Lee(Rottie). Jnr was coach for the day....

Started of with axle @ 85kg, always find axle hard on the wrists & f**ked by the time I try a clean so fail on this

Went back down to 80kg & got a rep, back in for another go @ 80kg & 3 reps. Using split jerk & takes me a few warm ups to get into the correct line. 3 @ 80kg was easy once got going! More there if i can get the line correct but left it cause more events to follow.

2nd farmers, 80kg for 30, 90kg for 15 & 100kg for 15. Weight not a problem on farmers but by the time done 45m the 100kg was a struggle, last 5m legs slowed to a crawl lol. Conditioning awful & needs work.

3rd Fingals finger. Never done this before so no idea what to expect! Managed 2 reps that felt ok then 3rd rep dropped to shoulder & had to fight hard. 2nd attempt got 3 reps easier & maybe had another at a push. Think the finger is about 200kg but not sure.

4th an epic fail on a 120kg farmers hold twice. Gutted Angry

Last for the day stones, failed a 90kg due to being a big girl then tacky went on & did run of 90, 100, 110, 120 not going today but back going so not that worried.

Hoping to do Dumfries novice if i can get a space so 2 weeks of events for that, think it would be a tough comp for me but events look great & think at least should have a good go at all 6. Just got to wait & see if i get a chance to compete then worry about finishing all 6 events with my s**t conditioning lol

Sounds like a good sesison, you coming for tuesday pressing Kev? Off next sunday so every chance i may be back!

No training Tue due to crazy work Mon, Tue & Wed

Tonite, 18" deadlift been a while since Ive done this so thought it was time to test the max! Started @ 100kg double then 140kg, 180kg. Then singles only & 200kg, 220kg (equal Pb), then 240kg Pb Tried 250kg but no chance.
Happy with a 20kg Pb so not too worried about the 250

Took a lot out of me so dips next 3 sets of 8 @ BW, felt easy as Ive managed so went for BW+10kg, Got 4 reps Pb then next set only managed 2.
Never done BW+ dips so happy with another Pb as dips always been poor for me.

Finished off with gunz & done Grin

More event training Sunday so hope things go well...............

Events training @ IS with Gary, Jnr, Lewis & James

1st up log, prob my worst overhead & no surprise how things went Only log in the unit is 80kg empty & thats above my best! Cleans not a problem & had 3 or 4 atempts to press but not happening today. Then decided just to do cleans, 80kg a few times, 100kg a few times & easy so tried 120kg & very close but just lost it at the top. Went back in for another go at 80kg press & best of the day! Maybe next week.

2nd Medley of 320kg tyre 3 flips, prowler push for 15m (around 140kg) & 80kg shield carry 15m. Tyre went ok but maybe a bit slower than would of liked then had problem getting prowler going as floor smooth concreate & feet just sliding, ok once got going & shield easy. Mess for 10min after lol

3rd stones, 90kg, 100kg, 110kg Had 10min break cause wanted to go for 130kg. then 120kg, 130kg got to lap but just no hip power for load, will go in the next few weeks for sure

DONE happy enough with the day & feeling progress coming on better than at anytime since Ive been training. Hope I can get a good run from now until the year end & some Pb's.

Looking forward to next week now Grin

Cheers, been running through your comp best I can just of the off chance lol.

Lewis who been training the last few weeks is doing Dumfries & coming on well, today was only his second session but we both agree the medleys look not to bad on paper but both a killer in real life lol

Oh! That will be why it felt heavy then lol. Your a man on the move too Mr BGB, back owning the 120kg log & 160kg stone! Nice

Could do with a special plan for the overhead s**t tho, as always Angry

Tonite @ T/Hall

Warm up with rear delts for 3 sets of 8

Press from rack, bar x few, 40kg x8, 60kg x4 (split jerk from now on) 70 x2, 80 x2. Left it at that, felt jaded from Sunday so no point pushing too hard.

Swiss bar type thing press (not sure of bar weight so will call it 5kg) 25 x4, 45 x2, 65 x1, old school plates so 74 x1 (spilt jerk) Then 79 xfail twice! Clean no problem to shoulders up to the 74kg but once over that becomes a struggle.

Flat bench 60 x4, 80 x2, 100 xfail. Knackered by know so left for another day & finished with a few BW dips & tricep push downs..................

Think out of the overhead run @ Dumfries ill prob get the swiss bar @ 75kg & maybe just maybe the 80kg log! Better than previous but would have a lot of catching up for a decent placing.

Just Sunday & Next Tue for pressing so dont think any more there! If I get the chance to compete will have to hope for some comp nerves for the log Roll-Eyes
