TBH was just going with the flow with benching

have no doubt I could have got 3x3, but with no spotter, didnt fancy the embarassment on 3rd rep if couldn't complete

Not in the gym where I used to train. 160kg bench presses were ten a penny 160kg squats were rare. Roll-Eyes

yeah, mostly due to the fact that I used to suffer from pussy-itas

would bench every week, squat once every blue moon and maybe do some leg pressing if i felt in the mood

not a great recipe for a big squat Confused

130KG 3x3 - this felt OK, but confidence still not great on squat

140 or 135 3x3 next week?

not a bad little session, so treated myself to eight pints of stella, two packets of crisps and three double vodkas and cokes down the hell hole that is Ash Vegas!!

Rough as a dog this morning after arriving home at 3am!!!

maybe better just to up it 5kg per week and keep the momentum going for a good while still?

I am just thinking that it would probably be the best approach to get that confidence up.

Willsan - aye, train in a power rack. Dont know why with confidence thing, prob cause no spotter and new (relatively) to squatting - only been squatting in a power rack (as opposed to smith machine) for about 12 months ish

not to worry, confidence will come and have bold target of 200 squat before end of year - heres hoping

Also fellas, does anyone know if I can compete in another divisional qualifier for BDFPA, Dont think Im going to do that comp on sat, but still would like to compete in not to distant future in BDFPA

Thats great progress mate 160 squat after 12 months of squatting! nice work. My only advice on the confidence thing is to keep squatting and maybe try doing heavy singles for awhile (4-8x1). Or failing that try doing some yoke training! squats tend to feel lighter after walking around with 1.5x your max squat on your back! Wink

gym was full of rather too many pungent smelling ppl last night, which wasn't ideal, but then again, I was probaably one of them by the end. Anyhow, training:-

Deadlift

100KG x 8
140KG x 6
180KG 3x3 - these felt really good, looking forward to balstin 3x3 on 185 next week!!

Pull-UPs - Bodyweight x 6, 5, 4

Seated Machine Row
180lb x 8
190lb x 8
200lb x 8
210lb x 8

Shrug Machine - 130KG x 10
160KG x 10
180KG x 6
200KG x 4

Dbell Curls 50LB x 8, 7, 6, 5

Concentartion Curls - 4 sets all incompassing 3 drop sets in each

Good workout tonight. Very pleased with Deadlift - aim to 1RM 230 before Birthdays - 16 March!!! Roll-Eyes
