Member 2325, 550 posts | Always got the feeling that there are forums out there full of people posting about some wa**er at their gym who is always squatting in the shrug rack. Or doing weird exercises with bands. Grunting occasionally, how gauche. So I'm in the group that most people outside of forums like this one probably think are the gym wa**ers. Only a few things have made me really angry. At the old gym the bench was right next to the cage, and on more than a few occasions a group of wa**ers on the bench getting all excited about 100kg assisted lifts would pay no attention to me trying not to hit them with the end of the bar I was using. When my brother wasn't a confident squatter someone did actually walk into the end of the bar as he was on his way up. Cleans used to really worry me, people just walk around you, get really close to the bar. It might only be 60kg mate, but if it hits you in the jaw you're going to know about it. There was one guy who trained there occasionally, tried to bump me in the queue for the rack by telling me that dumbbell squats were all I needed. When he did get to use it, knee wraps, erector shirt and all, 140kg for quarter squats. Big chap, 18st easy. Saw him screaming over 140kg rack pulls the week after, so I was the wa**er and pulled 200 easily after a couple of warm up sets. | ||

Using weird shirts, bands, slingshots, wrist wraps, touching my chest on every bench rep (unless I've got someone holding a cricket bat on my chest), not to mention coaching people to squat so deep that they'll hurt their knees of course. Plus so many catty comments about me hogging the bench that I've now changed the gym I bench at. You must remember, in the land of the weird, the one who isn't weird is the weird one... | ||
