May be capable of a small PB at comp so feeling good. Bench 20kg x10 40kg x8 60kg x5 80kg x3 100kg x1 90kg 3x3 Handling the weight with more confidence now. Very happy with it. Yates Rows 20kg x10 65kg 5x10 Standard, other than Mr Chafer trying to roll my trigger point ball between my legs for croquet rows, and humping me with his water bottle stuffed down his pants. Single Leg SLDL 6kg 2x10 Did with a kettlebell for now because I kept falling over with the barbell. | ||

Rehab warm up went well, all my bodyweight squats were nice and even. After Donny I start linear progressing my perfect form squats for a few weeks, I think. Front Squat 20kg 2x5 40kg x5 60kg x3 80kg x2 120kg x1 PB 80kg 3x8 Bench Press 20kg x10 40kg x8 60kg x5 80kg x3 80kg x2 102.5kg x1 80kg 5x3 Made too much fuss over the single and let it get into my head a little bit. Went up without fuss in the end but it went up fine. SLDL 60kg x5 80kg x5 120kg 3x8 Planned a single at 180kg but I wasn't feeling it and I don't think it will help this close to comp so I left it. OHP 20kg 2x5 30kg x5 40kg x3 50kg x2 65kg 3x3 Wanted more reps on the final set but I didn't really set up properly and my breathing was off. Should have breathed in at the top of the 3rd rep and gone for the 4th rep immediately, rather than trying to do it before attempting rep 4. Didn't get far off the rack position, maybe nose level. Chest Supported T-Bar Row x10 +30kg 5x10 Single Leg Split Squat 2x10 Much better this week. | ||

Doctor seems to think it is a viral infection rather than tonsillitis, and has given me a manky throat spray and some questionably strong painkillers (30/500 co-codamol). Been eating a lot of ice cream, as that makes it feel better so I'm happy I'm still sneaking in under 93kg 1 week out. Squat 20kg 2x5 60kg x5 100kg x3 140kg x2 160kg x1 170kg x1 Was meant to be doing some quick singles, potentially up to 180kg, but a tight quad and feeling lethargic from the painkillers put an end to that. Cut it short at 170kg, as the 180kg would likely have been more of a grinder than a quick rep and not worth it. Bench Press 20kg 2x5 40kg x8 60kg x5 80kg x3 100kg x1 Bar speed not as fast as I'd wanted, but still quite comfortable. Happy with this considering my head wasn't really in it today as it should have been. Deadlift 60kg x5 100kg x3 140kg x2 180kg F Just couldn't be arsed with it today. Not feeling any power and I'm now getting a bit of pain as soon as I break it off the floor, not just at lockout. A week of soft tissue work and low balling my deadlift opener will be necessary, then. Resigned to not making the qualifying total, or coming top 3 in the weight class. Competing again Stephen Manuel so I've f**ked any slim chance of winning, though a bit of friendly competition with Nick, as far as squat and bench go, should still be on the cards. | ||

Co-codamol really really bungs you up, think I've set a bumole stretching PB by doing a whole days s**tting in one go. As for the deadlift, my glute hurts at lockout. There's still some scar tissue/trigger points that need sorting, I just can't find them. Got 2 days to have a ferrick about and try and sort them though. | ||

Still occasionally nearly fall over, but doing these close to the rack gives me something to grab. Not hit the deck so far. Single Leg SLDL 5kg x10 10kg 4x10 Klokov Press 20kg x10 10kg 5x10 20 was just a bit too heavy Dumbbell Incline Press 12kg x10 17kg 5x10 Hammer Curl 12kg x10 10kg 5x10 12kg bit much for just a light session Bent Over Row 20kg x10 40kg 5x10 Face Pull 10kg 2x25 All ready for comp. Nice little pump/prehab session. Feeling thick, solid, tight. | ||
