Substances that one can't acquire without putting a decent amount of money into illegal transactions and risk getting busted if you compete in a tested sport? If that's the case I don't know if it's a shame for him, but it might be for others who would like to recover from injury.

So would I. But that has nothing to do with justice, and certainly not a justice
system. What you want is revenge, and statistics from medieval times seem particularly apt in that case.

assum said:How would you guys feel if cross fit went ahead and ran U90 SM off their own backs? They already have the infrastructure to put a full regional and national calendar in place, and if they saw a profit in it, I dare say the finances to fund it.
Would the masses then embrace them or carry on as is do you think?

It would depend on how they promoted it, if it was a strong/fit comp or a prober strongman comp then fine but if they said it was strongman then made it light as f**k just to please the crossfit lads I would not like it

"CrossFit" as a company isn't structured to run something like that. There isn't a CF UK entity that would be in charge, and the US HQ doesn't have the manpower to do something like that on top of the CF Games. That's not to say CF gyms wouldn't be interested in running or hosting the odd strongman comp, but that's down to the individual owner's interest. Here in Switzerland two of the three yearly SM comps are being held at CF Basel.

I've done at least one comp where the hook grip wasn't allowed for farmers (and maybe for a car DL hold). Is it usually allowed?

Nice session from the looks of it. The snatches are snappy. Maybe not proper crazy full squat deep, but deeper than mine for sure.

I dont know any men with credit cards unless they're spending beyond their means and I do not include debit cards in this, those are very different.
Do people know the difference between the two on here?

Having read through this ridiculous thread, I don't think you should presume to know more than people on here about credit/debit cards, women, Mick Hucknall, or much of anything really.

Anyone curious about it all can just do the Open workouts to see how they match up or sign up next year (20$) and get ranked along with everyone else. These days, even excellent allround athletes need to dedicate themselves to CF at least 6 months to a year to even hope to break through to the Regionals (top 48 in Europe; only top 3 out of those 48 eventually go to the Games).

Just as a point of comparison (relatively strong for a CrossFitter/weak for a sugdenite, and mediocre conditioning but probably better than most on sugden), I was around 1500th in Europe and 16000th in the world this year.

Thanks!

I'd say there's 2 things you should do. First, make sure your technique is decent.
http://concept2.co.uk/training/technique

That could net you an easy few seconds.

As far as training, this plan usually works well.
http://thepeteplan.wordpress.com/the-pete-plan/
You can ditch all the distance rowing if it doesn't fit with your strength goals. Maybe one shortish easy row a week to work on technique if necessary. The intervals, especially the shorter ones, can work well with strength training. Then it's a matter of balancing things depending on your recovery and area of focus at a given point in time. I usually focus on the erg for a while in the strongman "off season". I'm doing very little erging at the moment.

Hope that helps!

Today at lunch:

CF Open workout 13.5

15 thrusters 45kg
15 chest to bar pullups

Repeat for 4 minutes. If you reach 90 reps (3 full rounds), you earn the privilege to keep going for another 4 minutes. Hit 180 reps within 8 minutes and you keep going for another 4, and so on.

Needless to say I stopped at 4 minutes with 56 reps. A poor effor overall, with severa missed reps on the pull-ups (have done very few of those these past several months, in particular kipping let alone chest to bar)

Later after work (6pm-ish)
Squats
Bar x10x2
60x8
80x5
105x5
120x5
135x7

And around 8 pm, I redid 13.5 ->65 reps. Better strategy and execution, satisfied with this score.

I'd say it's a half decent time. It depends if you compare yourself to "competitive" crossfitters or the average person in a CF gym. You're strong and fit enough to put a score on the board and go sub-5:00, and that's better than the majority of CF gym members.
