Was bored at work so went to the gym and had a go at grace after some presses. Got 4:05, is that a half decent time or dog toilet?

I did similar with an 80kg log. It's tough going. Gonna attempt 100kg at some point for 30 reps. I think some Crossfit workouts are great conditioning tools for strongman

I'd say it's a half decent time. It depends if you compare yourself to "competitive" crossfitters or the average person in a CF gym. You're strong and fit enough to put a score on the board and go sub-5:00, and that's better than the majority of CF gym members.

Ha ha I know I am incredibly lucky to be able to use the gym at work (I'm an airport fireman).

The gym we've got is dire but it's got an old exercise set of weights so can exploit it when it's quiet.

Cheers, good to know. Was just curious as to how it compared in general, first crossfit thing is done and had no idea, saw an 89 second one on YouTube!

wow that's I really cool job! I want to hear more information. what does it normally consist of? do you just sit around until theres a plane on fire and then go and put it out? what happens if a plane sets on fire during a crossfit workout? do you finish the set?

Where I am we've got quite a few extra duties, and we have to do a fair bit of training, but our main role is as first responders to an aircraft incident so yeah we get a bit of downtime on weekend or late shifts. Thankfully big accidents are rare.

The bells going during a set doesn't worry me, it's if they go when I'm in the shower afterwards or, even worse, while I'm enjoying my post workout poo.

Probably get a call out evey other day or so on average. So not much ha ha. I've had three in a single shift before, but only ever one that actually crashed. It's mainly the little planes that have problems, some of the pilots' cavalier attitudes to plane maintenance makes getting a dodgy MOT seem like a safe bet.
