Ideally training would be done before lunch everyday but due to leaving for work at 0630 and getting back at 2100 training must be done around this...

Have heard training early is bad for joints and spine and training late in my experience means crap sleep but does anyone have experience doing heavy lifting at say 0500 or 2300 on a regular basis and what is seen as the lesser of the two evils??

Done both (albeit not as extreme on either end of the spectrum) and late was much the preferable option

I work long day shifts and question my reasons for doing so frequently throughout said shifts lol needs must but it is a pain when trying to keep consistent with 4 x training sessions a week. Cheers for the replies, having a coffee now and heading to gym shortly..

I'll train wherever I can whenever I can. The leeches need blood when the need it, so I am basically on a serious mission with one shoe.

Always miss the big lifts early... late is best

However, in contrast... event training better at about 11am-3pm for some odd reason???

Squatting isn't doing my back any good.

After switching to early training nearly 6 months ago I'm still getting used to it.

I can now squat and bench OK in the early AM (around 06:30), but deadlifting just doesn't seem to work. I am so stiff and inflexible when I wake up that deadlifting just doesn't really work.

In fact, now I think about it, i only injured by back (no longer currently deadlifting) after switching to early training. My early morning deadlift so far is 50KG behind my PM deadlift.

Chatted to a gymnast about this this morning and he said his coach used to split their class into 2 groups - those who were had problems with mobility in the early AM (to train later) and those who didn't.

Bad for joints to train early or late.
That's some prime broscience there my friend.
Train whenever you feel fit to.
