Teenagely important list: David Lee Roth: Skyscraper Whitesnake: 1987 Winger: In the heart of the young It Bites: Eat me in St Louis Extreme: Pornografitti Any of those could still make a current list too!

He really is streets ahead of the likes of Joe Satriani. David Lee Roth: Skyscraper I think I prefer the first one, is it 'Eat 'em and smile'? Have you seen pics of Roth recently? It just makes you weep. Extreme: Pornografitti Nuno at the peak of his powers, cool. Even if 'Flight of the bumblebee' is a bit of a cheat. I see you are a man who likes his shredders.

Jonny - I never attempted to choose my music on those kinds of grounds, to be honest, though I guess it explains your otherwise puzzling choices .

Paul Gilbert - yeah, he's a monster, too. I'm taking a moratorium on my guitar playing. One long-term hobby too many. Guitar music wise, more recently I've got interested in fusion and I now listen a fair bit to Frank Gambale. The music that really rings my bell is where the piece is so complex and such a headache-inducing racket that I almost can't stand it. Gambale fits the bill nicely.
